I uninstaled/Reinstaled the mod tools and now i get a error from ZeroEditor. the error is:

Code: Select all

Program: C:\BF2_modtools\data_SBC\ZeroEditor.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
please contact the application`s support team for more information.

Change your color quality and try running it again.

If that fails, and you think it is a Vista problem, go to data*** and right click on the ZerEditor icon. Select "properties". Click on the "Compatability" tab. Check the "run as" box and select "Windows XP" from the dropdown list. Then double-click the icon again.

I doubt it's a Vista issue, though: I have Vista as well, and I can mod fine.

I have not tried changing the color quality yet but, what do i change it to?
And i have tried the compatability mode in XP SP2 but it did not work.

Right click on your desktop and select properties than go to the Settings tab and put your color quality down.

If that doesn't work you could try running it with 3D Analyze and follow the steps given here.

I think that the key lies in the .NET framework. You said that you had 3.0, but it seems as though 3.5 for SP1 has come out, so if you wanted the latest, you should get that and see if it works. At the same time, there was a topic in the general thread that has since been deleted (found through Google search) that referred to someone fixing this issue through the use of the .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package. I'd say give each of these a go and report back your results. A possible reason the last one worked was that that was probably the version that ModTools were developed on, and some change to the framework might have caused it to cease working.

Do i try 1.1 and 3.5?

Sure, it can't hurt (they're relatively small downloads). Also, by trying both, you help others who might have the same problem. Even if the first one works, please try the second as well to see if it works too. Oh, and while using them, make sure you've done these other fixes to make absolutely sure it doesn't work.
AceMastermind wrote:Some things to note:
Try to run ZE with 3D-Analyze
Try updating your graphics card drivers
Switch your graphics to Highest 32 bit
Try turning off Aero Glass
Try right clicking on the exe and "Run as Administrator"
Try disabling User Account Control (UAC) for administrators
In terms of the graphics, try alternating between 16 and 32 bit, not just the highest.

Oh, and make sure it's the 3.5 for SP1 (assuming SP1 is installed for your Vista), not just 3.5.

i have tried it with 3D-Analyze but it did not work. i will try the other things.

EDIT
Ihave tried everything but the graphics card update and the .NET 1.1 and 3.5 for sp1 but, so far nothing works.

I have the same problem, that's why I never modded. But I will try your suggestion, Fiodis as soon as the computer is free. But where do I go to check what .NET framework version I have?

But where do I go to check what .NET framework version I have?
Try checking the Uninstall Programs section in Control Panel.
