Nelvaan: Village FINAL

Here's the final of my Nelvaan village

The Readme:
About the map:
This location was featured in the Clone Wars cartoon. It's set in and around the village, and includes the Nelvaanians that inhabited it in their combat gear. Although there was no combat actually in the village in the Clone Wars, it does make for a great combat location.

About the Jedi:
Squyy Dazo (Sq-why Dah-zoe) is a Zabrak trained in the art of the Sith, much like Darth Maul. Squyy didn't agree with the dark side and ways of the Sith, and was able to disband. The Jedi order couldn't trust him, and would not take him in, so he went to hide from the Sith on the planet of Nelvaan. The Nelvaanians took him in and gave him the tattoos on his face. Since the planet is so cold, he developed a new force power, force heat, to keep himself warm. In its most extreme use, it can be a very powerful weapon, but only at short range.
The jedi's name, like many Star Wars names, comes from a combination of the creators names.

Asajj Ventress was also in the clone wars cartoons, so I thought she'd make a good fit here, even though she was never shown on Nelvaan. Plus Grieveous was causing problems with the map :)

Map features:
Conquest
1-Flag
2-Flag
Hero Assault
Hunt

Thanks to:
neomarz, minilogoguy, and Teancum (for odfs) for Asajj Ventress
Schizo for setting up force heat and getting a start on the Nelvaanians
Vyse for setting up the Nelvaanian 'throw'
Epena for delegating resources
DaWeess, mysteray, and GT'ers for Beta testing
Gametoast for keeping this game alive.

OLD WIP POST BELOW

I'm pretty far along on my second map Nelvaan: Village, and I'll definitely be completing it, so I thought I'd post a screenie or two of my modeling progress thus far.

Here's a picture of Nelvaan from the Clone Wars cartoons.

(the little square outside the door is for character reference. That's the approximate size of a player in relation to the map)

The map will have conquest and flag, and possibly hunt if I can think of a good hunt mode.
Heroes on this map will be Anakin, Obiwan, Grievous, and hopefully a new jedi with 'force heat', a force power that will incinerate anyone within a few feet of the jedi. Being that the jedi lives on such a cold planet, he often has to use heat for survival, and ultimately..defense.

I'll post progress in this first post as it moves along.

Will it span beyond that village scene or will the battle be contained in the cliff village?

I'll beta test too, if you want.

Ooo, I can imagine it now: Two Jedi fighting as the Clones and Droids fight, and one jedi kills the other, and there movementless body falls off the cliff.... Keep up the good work!

this looks like a great map.
I have an idea. you could reskin the bothan to be a nelvaanian. that would be cool here.

nice job. Didn't ever think that anyone would use this planet for a map. I can't wait till you complete it.
Anways, do your best - it'll be great!

@TK-349 - It will just be the cliff and the path that wraps around it, but the cliff has an 'inside' to it as well. I didn't include a pic of that. I may add one, but I'll have to change to a wide angle so I can get it all in.

@ JackSkratch = I thought about that same thing. Reskinning a bothun and have them as a 'local'

Beta will be released to everyone at GT for testing when it's ready.

Looks truly organic. My deep respect to you for this master piece of work.

What about including the big beast slain by general skywalker as a prop ?
And editing the jawa sandcrawler into a landed Republic CR20 would be nice, too.

Well, and maybe some of the Nelvaan mounts.

Wow! Very cool. Now it looks like you already have the model ingame, because of the background. Can't wait 4 more screens.

No, the models aren't in-game yet. I'm using Maya for modeling, just like I did for Ancient Research Facility. I just put an image plane on the camera for the mountains to give the effect. I still have to model the inner walls of the buildings, add doors & windows, and then I can bring them into XSI for texturing. the outside shouldn't be too tough for texturing since they've all got similar textures. Inside I'll be adding banners, pottery, little campfires, and some other things.

Wow! That's all I can say. This looks like it's going to be one impatient-waiting-for-release map lol.

Can't wait, nice job.

After taking a little time to make a few models for Epena, I'm back on Nelvaan. Put in most of the doorways now and modeled quite a few pots, banners, baskets and other environmental stuff. The windows are next. Here's a couple more screenies:

Image
Main courtyard.

Image
Entrances and doorways galore.

Image
The Mountain

Image
The indoor Cathedral and mess area.

The next screenies you see will be in-game :)
