no skin

I've been trying to do some basic skinning...just painting the shipped skins. when i save them and munge the character ends up black. Am i just saving the .tga with the wrong settings (24 bit, uncompressed) or is there something more?

Does anyone know a good tut for skinning?


Edit: I got that problem sorted by using ddsconverter. Is there a better/easier way of doing it?

I ideally want to edit and skin with the swbf2 tga's, but just munging with the skin wraps it round the model wrong...could anyone head me in the right direction?

sure you unchecked whatever compression?
