www.americasarmy.com wrote:TEN HUT! America's Army: Special Forces (Coalition) v2.8 is now available from our Download Partners! This version includes the America's Army Mission Editor, and for the first time, aspiring Level Designers will have the ability to create their own custom America's Army mission!
This release coincides with the opening of Mission Depot. With Mission Depot, you'll be able to submit the missions you have created. After a short review process, approved missions will become the next Official America's Army mission distributed throughout the Honor network!
We've also provided a new forum environment for those of you ready to jump right in and get started -- Check out the Official Mapping Forum! Discuss the latest methods used or challenges and solutions faced using the America's Army Mission Editor!
Finally, we've added the America's Army Mission Editor Manual to our Online Manual site, along with two tutorials based on the missions - Border and Dusk! These manuals are also available in PDF format in our downloads section.
Head over to our Downloads section or try out our Official Bit Torrents which will allow you to Patch from v2.7 to v2.8 or download a Full Install. Which ever way you choose, be sure to grab the latest version of America's Army: Special Forces (Coalition) v2.8...the next mission could be yours!
For more information regarding Bit Torrent, check out this forum topic!

That's exactly what I thought!
Well I tested out the America's Army Mission Editor and it looks pretty hard.
It's the same editing type as UnrealEdit so I knew I wouldn't be looking at something easy like ZeroEdit.
It will definitly take a while to get used to and some people may even give up trying.
But I definitly want to make a map.

Actually it is Unrealedit lol
AA runs on unreal engine and thats the editor for it so....
I just tried it in 2.8, not many game changes basically just the map editor...

I've actually been able to make a world area. I haven't been able to find out how to add bots, vehicles, or a Skydome.

Unfortunately Vista is preventing me from launching the map editor....
Even still, I think that I would not have the time to work on maps for AA

It's actually made by the Army lol. It's a promotional game. No viruses.
Here are some screenshots from their site. Lol, I don't want to take any right now. Besides the fact that my graphics card stinks and wouldn't look anything like the real thing.
The game is somewhat like Counter-Strike. Terrorists against U.S. Forces. Only an online game.
Note: These are actual in-game screens.

OOhhhH!, fancy. It's purely online right? I seem to remember hearing something about both sides seeing eachother as the terrorists, but that's just me.

Yes that's right. All online period. The opposite side always looks like terrorist. So no matter what, you're always on the U.S. Forces.

I would suggest using a download manager for downloading AA (Some file hosts supply you with their own dl managers)
That way if your download is interrupted for a second or two, you won't have to start it over. For Firefox users I would heavily recommend 'down them all' (unless you are downloading from FileFront, it doesn't work with FileFront)
Start the download before you go to bed and it should be done sometime the following morning (hey, it saves you gaming time by using the computer when you are not in front of it....unless you are nocturnal

)
