Pandemic was on a time limit. I don't get why people don't understand that. Rebellion was too, which is why SWBF: RS is terrible.delta 47 wrote:I was just thinking the opposite, I would prefer it if Rebellion developed it. I think they could go a little farther with it than Pandemic would

Re: Battlefront III News
The lesser devs are always limited and rushed and Pandemic was rushed because they are now owned by EA. EA was like how do we make a LotR game quick, but will be something semi different. GOT IT! Take Battlefield/battlefront and put LotR skins in it. Pandemic go!
Shame, but I trust Pandemic a bit more than Rebellion.

Re: Battlefront III News
I fully understand Pandemic was on a time limit. Its just the game companies need to take a little more time to make the games better instead of always rush. And I know its all part of everyday life but putting a little more time into a game would be great, Rebellion isn't the best either and both developers need to make something big.Teancum wrote:Pandemic was on a time limit. And a long time since they developed for the series. Free Radical had some neat ideas I hope Pandemic might pick up (seamless ground-to-space could have been awesome).
My only real gripe with BF2 was more an issue with the sound... why, when Jango and Boba were voiced by Temeura Morrison, were the Clones not?

Re: Battlefront III News
well not all clones inherited the voice gene (it was atually rare to inherrit the same voice gene i think i read somehwere) because if you play star wars republic commando all there voices are different check on wookiepedia it will explain. so it kind of made sense to have the clones voices different. i thought the sound was quite good.ggctuk wrote:My only real gripe with BF2 was more an issue with the sound... why, when Jango and Boba were voiced by Temeura Morrison, were the Clones not?

Re: Battlefront III News
The voices had nothing to do with genetics. It was actually to do with their personality and personal nutrition. Clones all had different personalities, and so in one way or another, that somehow affected their voices.

Then why, I wonder, was there one voice for the Clones?

Re: Battlefront III News
As crappy and average as most Star Wars money making ploys (I'm sorry, games) have been, the sound is probably the best part.
I just read through all (most) of this topic, so I could properly join in, so I hope I didn't miss anything important.
My general take on SWBF III is that I don't honestly care who makes it as long as it's actually good. While there was undoubtedly fun times to be had with the (unmodded) SWBF 1 & 2 games, the modding community is honestly what's kept it alive, as far as I'm concerned, kinda like the game Freelancer made in 2003. Ironically, it also had a sequal everyone was excited about that never came out. Anyways, I have a personal vendetta against EA, so it'd be my personal preference that they wouldn't make it, but it's not my choice, so whatever. Anyone who could make the gameplay deeper than the average flash game would be preferable. Those models from the first post (and have been linked to numerous times since) looked great, yes, but if the gameplay was the exact same thing the first two (and I'm assuming RS as well, never played it), then, if you'll understand what I mean, screw that. We've had many, many games for this console generation that've been nothing more than N64 games with better graphics.
To be honest, and this is my opinion, I think it'd be cool if DICE picked it up. Bad Company was a great direction for the Battlefield series to go, and a similar direction would probably make the first great SWBF game. I've had many, many epic battles in Bad Company with the max 24 in the game, imagine what they could do with a large scale Star Wars game? They've proven they can handle this kind of game. But that's me daydreaming.
I think that it was definitely posted pages ago. And it's probably irrelevent, but I think it's stupid to call a cell phone game an actual part of a series. Anyways...Null_1138 wrote:(If this doesn't belong here, I apologize, and I will post a new thread)

Yeah, i agree, also, I don't agree with the people that were saying Lucas Arts should have kept Free Rad' Alive because that isn't how things work, they pay a company to make a game, the company makes it-no rescue should be necessary and if it wasn't in the contract then chances are it wouldn't happen.

Re: Battlefront III News
True, Lucas Arts had no obligation to buy or save Free Radical. Fans stated that wish because they were happy with what free radical unofficially showed off and wanted them to finish it so they could play that version.

Re: Battlefront III News
Which makes me think that the only reason they showed it was to try and get the fans to pressure LA to do so as much as possible. Kinda like how Take-Two (I think, too lazy to check right now) announced Bioshock 2 when EA showed they wanted to by 'em so their value would go up. Or something like that. I read it in Game Informer a while back, I'll have to go find it again. Anyways. Maybe it's just me, but the only reason I cared about that video at all was because it let me know the SWBF series wasn't just abandoned. As far as getting excited about gameplay,
1) I'll wait until we know for a fact the game's actually going to come out, and
2) It's a video. How hard is it to make any gameplay look good in a video?
As you probably understood from my previous post, I'd actually prefer someone else made the next Battlefront. The first one didn't live up to its potential in anyway (at least, not many, for the sake of argument) and the second one felt more like a mod & a mappack; same for RS (I forgot I did play it for like 5 minutes once), except, obviously, a port to a portable. I'd really like it if three would be more than a high definition graphic pack for two. If you know what I mean.

Re: Battlefront III News
Because it's about Battlefront 3, and that's the game that most of us are most anticipating? And because this site was made to discuss Battlefront Series' Games? Maybe?

Actually, it's because the GameToast forums allow 20 posts per page in a topic, and over 400 posts, therefor the current page is the 21st.
But let's not get off topic.

Yeah, if it had been completely canceled, I wouldn't've bothered reading through 20 pages. lol
