Is there any limit to the number of new maps in addon folder

I've been having a problem, and I was wondering if anybody could help. I recently found out that whenever I tried to join a game online, it came up with the map not found message, even if I was trying to join a round in one of the maps that came with the original game. Then I thought that it might be one of the recent new maps that was buggy somehow, and moved around 6 of the most recent ones out of the addon folder. Then it worked fine, and I tried adding the maps back in one by one to isolate the faulty one. Soon enough, I thought I found it, deleted it, and moved the rest back in, and the error came up again. After a lot more testing, I found out that it was not any specific map, but the number of maps. If I have any more than 27 maps in my addon folder and I try to play multiplayer, it doesn't work. I've tested this by putting in 28 maps and randomly deleting one map. 27, everything is fine. 28+, I cannot get in any online game at all, none.
In conclusion, please help!

OK, well, thanks. I'll try reinstalling since I can't think of anything else that I haven't done, and if that doesn't work, I'll find some way to cope.

Hmmm, I think it may be dependant on system memory then. I have 31 in my addon folder without crashing (haven't tried more yet), and I have 512MB Dual Channel DDR memory so it may be limited by the amount of memory.
