Battlefront Maps sold at ebay

This guy offers "our" 40 custom maps on a CD for about 7 euros + 3 euros shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 23712&rd=1

Just wonder if that is legal? didn´t he need to ask for permission?
I remember that i was contacted by a german game magazin and they asked for permission if they could put one of my maps on their mag CD.
Well i won´t have plans to stop this guy and it might be usefull for those guys with slow or no internet connections. But 7 euros for a CD-R isn´t that cheap.
So what do you think about it ?

If I remember correctly there was some line in the license agreement, that you must not offer the maps for commercial purpose.
But it is a complicated case as the guy selling the maps on ebay most probably hasn´t agreed to the license agreement and commercial purpose is a legal term which I am not sure fits in this case.
So I don´t know, but I think it is a bit strange, and I think it does not concur with Lucasarts´ copyright.

I dunno what that means :P lol

and I think that they should ask permission before they uses OUR maps (I mean in the big perspective)

and Bandu and Rends: be proud since you guys seems to be famous :P if somebody called me - and I havent gaven anyone my phone-number - I'd be surpriced and maybe a little confused

anyways, I think that guy who's selling the maps, should GET A LIFE!!! and I hope noone buys it  which means I feel the same as swbf_lase :? (whatever he mans...)

Lord Bandu,
the german mag put them on their mag CD a long time ago so i don´t think that there is a connection between the mag and the guy.
And i guess he means your Battle of naboo map or majins naboo encounter.I´m not sure .
It says Naboo (with the big battle from Ep1)

Qdin, if you check the ebay article you will see that already 1 guy bought a CD and he has at least 2 articles running offering the CD the same time (every week?)

I'm 99.9% sure that isn't legal, and it sure as hell ain't right. I'd take action if I were you.

Yeah, because overall he's just making money off of your work.

Actually I think that it is legal because filefront is doing it too! He is just helping the people who can't download the mappacks, because they are too big! I am perfectly fine with him using my maps, and if you are going to comlain to him, you have to comlain to filefront!

Panzer,
i don´t have problems if someone burning maps on a CD-R and send the stuff to guys not able or not willing to dl them.
I think that 5 euros including shipping (wich costs 1.44euros in germany) would be fair. But 7 euros plus 3.5 for shipping sounds very overpriced for me. This guy wants to make money with our works.
But again i won´t take any action against him.

If we find him i'll make sure to *ill him!

Well, mappers, from now on remember to include in your readme's a snetence or something prohibiting anyone to sell your maps. I don't think it's fair that some guy makes money off maps, when you can't sell them under law. Anyways, lets burn him at the stake :)
