Wow! That's really great! What program did you use to make it? Funny thing is, I've been trying to make a movie for this map tonight--I've been using FRAPS to record the clips but I don't know how to get rid of the HUD or what program to use to edit the clips. How do you do that stuff?
It's very cool. I'm
so putting a link to it on the first post.
Thanks a lot!

I use FRAPS to record, I get rid of the HUD by using Zerted's Freecam, and I edited it with the new Windows Movie Maker in Vista. (It's better than the XP one)
And then I threw some music in! Took me a while to decide. I couldn't find one that fit your map.

Wait--I have Zerted's Freecam. How do you use it to get rid of the HUD?

You turn on Freecam. Then click Chase Camera. The camera'll be back on your character, but the HUD will be gone until you pause the game again.

The PIII Dark Trooper is strong enough, and if you put in the energy shield it will be un-stoppable which is a down-side if you're using the Consortiums. And whats the rocket launcher that its using? It bends over and sort of shoots out rockets in the rebel tank sort of way.
BTW Loved the video!!!

the dark trooper bends down because: (jus resently found out) the rockets are actually fired from the shoulders. the information is also found in the link in my recent post here.

Actually, I think that the dark trooper of doom needs more health. I really liked it when one just stomped into the room and started spraying lasers all over the place, but it's annoying that it can be killed in 3 shots.
Anyway, awesome map authraw! This one's staying on my hard drive. The ice cavern is really, really nice looking

. Assault was pretty neat, but as per usual it never keeps me hooked for long, and the skins on the republic commanders are really blurry, like they have 256*256 textures or something. Not sure why that is, but it doesn't really matter to me. They're still pretty fun to play with for the first 15 minutes.
@Darth_Z13: This might be a stupid question, but is the Movie Maker for Vista available to download for XP?
I had a few suggestions for this map, the most prominent one being that the AI pathing isn't too great and ought to be fixed. And um... I've forgotten the rest

. Anyway, great map!

Yeah--the Dark Trooper PIII feels like it needs a little more health, but whenever I give it more the Empire just dominates and the Consortium has no chance. For my next map I'm hoping to figure out how to do a campaign mode and I'm throwing around the idea of having the character face a Dark Trooper PIII with a ridiculously high amount of health. That would be cool.
I've noticed that the bots aren't as smart as they should be, too. I'm constantly working on pathing, but I can't seem to get them any better than they already are. There's probably some trick to pathing that I just don't understand. I think part of the problem is the fact that the tunnels are so narrow and so you notice it when the AI get off the path (cause they have nowhere to go and end up bumping into the walls.) So yeah, I'm sure I'll make more changes to the AI pathing, but don't expect too many improvements in that area unless I make some major breakthrough of some sort.

Loved the map, but one thing that really bugged me was the fact that the Mandalorians had no fpm.

Oh yes! I forgot all about that. I removed the first person view for most of the new units for two reasons: first of all, some of them were really buggy and it was easier to just cut them out than try to get them to work. Secondly, my map was getting really big with all of the modded sides and I had to find a way to cut the filesize. I guess I could put some of them back in if there was enough demand for them, but I don't think it's really worth the extra couple of megabytes, especially if I end up adding a few more sounds.
What does everybody else think?

The character facing a PIII? The only character that got everybody's interest and fought a PIII before is Kyle Katarn.

WoOt?!
Maybe you should put a pauldron and a kama on Commander Bly. He used them and maybe the google thing on his helmet but I don't expect the head gear to happen.

jus remembered something in my KOTOR memories. the mandos were good in heavy weapons right, but weren't they also good in hand-to-hand combat and melee weapons?

O.K. , dled Sunday and tried it out: This map rocks!
loved the dark trooper phase III and the mandalore sides.
Just 1 thing, sometimes as Spar, his rockets don't do any damage, or even show an animation.
Other than that, nothin' .
Great job authraw!

Heh, whoops--didn't mean to imply Katarn. Just that there would be a Dark Trooper PIII "boss" in a campaign mode, lol. I haven't actually worked out the hero details, yet.
I've seen people put pauldrons and kamas on various units, but I never knew how people did that (or where the kama and pauldron models came from, for that matter.) I always thought that they were modified .mshs. Are they?

Maybe--but I've tried giving the commander a vibroblade in the past and it made the Mandos totally decimate the clones. It would mean I would have to rebalance the sides all over again. I don't want to do that, lol.

I didn't notice that Spar thing. I'll check it out. Does this happen when you are flying? That might be the problem...
Thanks for testing, all. I haven't received any voice auditions yet, so I'm going to assume that nobody's interested.

I hope to have the final version out in around two weeks (so long as nothing strange happens!)

I would record an audition, but I can't sound like a mandalorian. However you're voices are very good and so is the rest of the map. The darktrooper p3 was my favorite unit. I did get a weird effect in the caves where I think there was a problem with the reflections.
