Hope the aircraft controls are realistic enough to control them. That's been my biggest pet peave in the BF series.

My PC Gamer had a few articles about it, and just by those ones I know I am going to get it (I just hope it works on my mediocre computer).

If you can run Battlefield 2 on your "mediocre computer", you should have no problems running 2142.. It's suppose to use the same game engine as Battlefield 2

I don't have Battlefield 2 though.

Off-topic : Well, in that precise case, I would
highly advise you to exploit the features offered by either
Microsoft® Windows XP Game Advisor or
System Requirements Laboratories®, which have been both conceived in order to determine whether
specific video-games could be run decently and properly on your
Personal
Computer, which should help you to get a broad idea of the Capacity owned by this one if
Battlefield 2 was about to be installed and executed on it...

Battlefield 2 requirments are:
OS: XP with Admin rights
CPU: 1.7 GHz intel celeron D/pentium 4 or AMD athlon XP/sempron or greater
RAM: 512 MB or more
Disc drive: 8x or faster cd/dvd drive
Hard drive: 2.3 GB or more free space
Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible
Sound: same as video
Video card must have 128MB or more memory and one of teh following chipsets:
Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 (I can run battlefield 2 easy with a 5200)
or greater
ATI Radeon 8500 or greater.
I think that should help you Slayer Hunter J and Lev.

By the time this game is released for PC hopefully better and some cheaper Graphics cards will be around..
I to have a nvidia 5200 which is a good card though a bit old and always seems to beable to play most games well.I have no probs with Farcry nore
Battlefield2 demo.I slightly over clocked it with
COOLBITShttp://www.pcmech.com/show/optimize/896/
Be sure to use manual clock and do a small bit at a time and set you fan to always on as cooling can be a issue.Don't go mad you only need to tweak a little bit to get a better performance.
I will not be held responsible make sure you read the link 1st!!

Off-topic : Also, Precise_Moon, I would like to precise a few additional Details regarding the possible Requirements and Consequences implied by nVidia® ForceWare "Coolbits", such as the fact installing and exploiting such a Specialized Tool might not be needed and careful on specific Personal Computers - Like either DELL® XPS ones or even those being assembled by Alienware® -, additionally to the Occasional Instabilities owners of OverClocked nVidia® GPU's-based Graphics Cards might encounter, while using Products having been conceived by EVGA® Corporation or BFG Technologies®, amongst many other Companies similar to both these two ones...

If i could have a
DELL-XPS i would not overclock i was mainly just giving tips to those of us with a lesser PC for gaming who intend to buy the new generation of games. My graphics card does the job and can be tweaked a little.
Personnel
Computers will become more cheaper along with the like of Graphics cards and CPU's then i will bring my PC upto speed but until then i have to make do with what i use.I have overclocked with Coolbits and have no problem but i must make it clear to those that they do not go mad and only manually tweak alittle to get the better performance for these games.
We all like gaming thats why were on the likes of Gametoast.Would love a XPS and the time to justify spending that sort of money on a PC to game but making do with what i have got which does the job.
Battlefield 2142 is the next step for FPS games and will be the benchmark.Lets hope Lucasarts takes note and produces SWBF III with a similar format

Off-topic : In my opinion, if LucasArts® has decided not to entrust the conceiving of Star Wars Battlefront III towards Pandemic Studios, then I assume it has eventually something to do with the fact this Specialized Firm may have not acquired enough Knowledges and Informations on the latest Discoveries made by other Development Studios, such as either Epic Games® or Crytek Games®, and that's probably why Leaders of the concerned Entertainment Company have considered that the upcoming Title belonging to the Star Wars Battlefront Series would be managed by persons having learnt to manipulate the most recent Technological Innovations, in order to make the planned Product comparable to Battlefield 2142, for sample...

Theres an Open Beta planned for BF2142 aswell as a demo.
It is rumoured that the open beta will be here sometime in the coming days-week! . Yet, these are only rumours.
The Demo will no doubt be out after the beta , about a week before the release.
To play the open beta I think you have to have BF2 , tho im not sure.

It's Bandu! *Glomps*
Anyway, I doubt that a BF2142 beta would require the game BF2...I've never heard of a game beta requiring another game to work, even if related...

They wouldnt do that, I dont know what the point would be. I bet it would be a standalone beta, instead of some sort of exe that acted as a mod for BF2

Maybe you are apparently sure of yourself regarding the fact Electronic Arts® would not eventually decide to provide freely a Preview Version of Battlefield 2142 requiring the owning of this Entertainment Product's Prequel, but you have equally to admit that you cannot currently guarantee the opposite case. Indeed, according to what I may have learnt about this upcoming Video Game, it is supposed to be shipped with a Graphics Engine comparable to the one embedded to Battlefield 1942, which means that what Lord-Bandu may have precised earlier might not be actually that Trivial and Relevant...
