Tean knows that, but he sais it's difficult. Hex editing the model to make it accept transparent skins if I remember well

Im a bit suprised Teancum hasn't posted this somewhere. Just because its difficult doesn't mean everyone shouldn't know about it.

I wouldn't PM him. At least don't think about it 2 hours after you posted the topic. People do have lives outside GameToast and SWBF2. Wait at least 3 days if you do plan on PMing someone about a topic you just posted.

i agree with Zerted, you should wait a while before PM'ing him.

If you know how to hex edit materials inside the msh, you need to copy a material that has the right flags (from any model) then copy that over the jetpack material flags. Then you make an alpha channel for the actual tga that is totally black.

Well in that case, would it be possible to make the alpha channel black over a certain point in the TGA, say, a battledroid's backpack, and have that become invisible while everything else remains? I'm sure that's possible, and I have the edit flags code for transparency when I made that booma for PvtParts. I think I'll give it a shot.
Edit: <Gasp> Teancum's avatar is over the limit! Bad administrator! Bad!

153 pixels

... I'll shrink it when I get home.
And @ Rekubot -- it doesn't work like that unfortunately. I tried that, and anything not black, even if it's totally white, will be semi-transparent. To take things like backpacks and jetpacks off it has to be a totally separate material in the msh file.

Semi-transparent? That's something I don't understand. I could add a transparency flag on a booma and still have it completely opaque with a white alpha channel. Oh well, I guess it must have something to do with the fact that MSH files aren't supposed to be edited; or because the developers had a different Edit Flags tool.

Not unless you want to make a new model for it.
