Ok. This is a really fun game. I remember the original Myst game. Great game. This is a newer game, and it really captures the feel of the original. It's a must-have, given that it's free. The genre is an Adventure/Puzzle game in a Sci-Fi environment. Be warned, it requires you to think a lot and be rather clever.
Also, keep in mind that you can link with other players, so then you can go through different ages together either through your Relto Age or through the KI, which you can find in a dispenser in the Gahreesen Age. I would get the KI first so that you can communicate with other players before getting to the cleft.
