what do I do to add a new era to the stock maps? I'm guessing it has to do with the addme?

Yes it does. If you have the v1.3 patch, it has a tutorial in its doc folder. If you don't have that patch, look at the FAQ sticky topic here for a link to a different tutorial.

Is the tutorial to add an era to the map you are working on or to add an era to all stock maps?

Just the map you are working on.

I want to know how to make a sides mod for all stock maps that comes up as a new era instead of replacing the default sides, like KoTOR or Dark Times or BFX

EDIT: I want to know how to this because I'm not the greatest map make but I'm fairly good at skinning and custom sides (after weeks of practice)

Edit your addme as said in http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 27&t=20380 and use AddNewGameModes to add your game modes and eras to the stock maps (just like it says in the addme.lua's comments).

so if thats how you add the era I have two questions:

1. Is that in the addme of the map I'm adding the era to??

2. Where does the era get the sides from, the actual era, not just the name on the era list??

You have to load all your era/mode additions from an addme. Its best if you create one of your own instead of trying to edit an existing one.

You have to create a map script for each mission you are trying to add. In that script you say which sides get loaded.
