Different environment fx in different areas?
Is it possible to have snow in one area, sun in another then fog in even on more.

You can add snow through the fx file and add rainshadow regions in the area you don't want snow. The fog can be done with dust objects, such as the one found in the stock Geonosis assets.
But if you want three seperate areas that have different looking skies, then no, that would not work out.

Effects can't achieve the same thing as a skydome object. You could try to have a separate snowy area, where the whole area is circumvented by high cliffs/tall buildings, over which you place a grey/white plane with a lot of snowy clouds under them to conceal it. You can also have shadow regions for lighting, but they don't always work that well.swado95 wrote:wait couldnt u make them all effects and scale them up and place them. To achieve what you want, you'll have to be creative and figure out work-arounds. I think this is another thing where we'll say you that you'll need more experience before doing this. You should prioritize getting that small, simple but elegant map out with some nice game play and a neat environment and only when you've done that shift your view towards things like this.

No offense, but you're still thinking waaaaaaaaay too big. Even if the things you want to do are possible, you just don't have the experience yet to do them. I'm not trying to be offensive, those are just the facts of life. Big mods take big experience. Start small. It wears folks out to have someone who knows very little about the tools ask super-advanced questions. I know you mean well, but bring it back down to Earth, please.

Yes. You've been told this in more than one of the (roughly) 8 threads you have made in the past week.
I don't know how to do half the stuff (probably more) that you're asking about, and I've been modding and learning fairly hard (with a good number of week long breaks thrown around in there) for about 5-6 months.
As for your question,

As for your question,
That's pretty much what I've heard, just having read up on questions like this in the past, but I know Forcemaster in his most recent map had A daytime sky, A dusk sky, and a night sky all in the same map. This is done I believe by creating a .msh that is slightly smaller than the actual sky, and then loading it through the LUA. Like this you could in theory Just create a different dome with the sky texture and place it wherever you want the different looking sky, but this would come off as really really sloppy. Someone can (and please do) correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's how it works.Xavious wrote: But if you want three seperate areas that have different looking skies, then no, that would not work out.

Re: Different environment fx in different areas?
No im not trying to get 3 different skys i mant 3 different lighting/suns ( sorry if i was confuzing)
I think of setting up a base sky with very little lighting and then have so sort of sun for the different parts of the map. then to make it look less blue i just cover with clouds or something.
I was thinking something like this where you can see the clouds in the distance but the sun wont be affecting anything under the clouds to it looks dark.
