Alright, progress update. This map is going a little slower than I'd like, but a lot of what I'm doing is working the kinks out of race mode. So hopefully it'll be worth it.

So, I've got good news and bad news.

Bad News: There will be no race mode.

Kidding.

But seriously, there likely won't be AI racing alongside you. I can't seem to get AI to follow one-way planning (it almost seems like they go the wrong way more often to spite me), and (I'm not even sure whether this should work or not) my attempts to create a patrol path had no effect either. End result? Stupid AI. Not much I can do at this point, unless someone has a magic solution to making one-way planning work.

Good News: I've changed the way points are awarded.

I used to have a points system that awarded 90 points to whoever finished 5 laps first, 80 to the second, etc. on down to 10th, which got 0. I changed it to a timer-based system that uses the mission timer (which is tentatively set at ~7:00 for 5 laps) to award points based on how quickly you finish. The only problem with this is that using .lua coding you can only assign points to players in increments of 10. Points then are 10 points for each remaining second, ergo a good finishing time nets you somewhere between 1000 and 2000 points, which looks somewhat excessive. However, the simple number of seconds you had left will still show up under flag captures on the scoreboard, for those that prefer to see their numbers without that extra "0."

---

Also, I'm working on a conquest mode, any suggestions for other modes? (Kotor hero assault? kotor infantry assault?) I'm open.

And finally, if you've got a neat-looking blue-patterned or red-patterned clone skin, and want it featured in the map (see end of first post) post it here or send it to me. Thanks!

nice to see how this map is coming along. Race mode sounds cool.

as far as conquest mode goes, anything KotOR would be just fine im my opinion.

doesnt matter, as you forgot the all important rule in swoop racing:

Swoop racers race against TIME and not against EACH OTHER

so its more about time than other AI

although, if its a podracing circuit like in the *drum roll* Boonta Eve Classic, then pathing would be highly needed.

Woah... sweet idea and convenient also. I had just made two blue clone skins anyways. You can use them if you want.

Yeah, but I'd wanted race mode to be available to be used for podracing, should anyone choose to make that, as I'll eventually be releasing the code.

Also, here's a little video of some racing.

Judging from the video, a mini-map and some signs pointing to the right way would be nice.

Those skins are all pretty nice. Don't know if I'll be able to use yours, Penguin, since I'm planning on using the Ep3 trooper model pretty exclusively, but they still look nice.

Conquest (KotOR and GCW) mode is just about done; I do however need the Kreia and Jolee Bindo assets from the Con. Pack, if someone could send those to me.

I'll have some more screens up soon.

EDIT: Btw, I'll need some (~3) beta testers, preferably some more-experienced modders, since I need to make sure racemode is glitch-free. Please PM me if you'd like to beta test.

How about repaying me for not mentioning the info I spoon fed you, Jerk.

Just kidding. Did I get you? Seriously, I at least deserve "race mode design assistance" in the creds. :P

P.S.
Beta.

Lol. Actually, I'm just compiling all the info I have on accreditation to post at one time, cause there are a lot of credits all over the place. But for the record-

"Ace_Azzameen_5 was a vital cog in the machine that is the development of race mode; all pay tribute and praise."[/towncrier]

Happy? :P
