Ok, I'm making a map, and it turns into this:
-THe only thing I can narrow to this problem is when I modified the rain effect, and changing the FX file for the map..... But, It still has this problem when I just get rid of either one.....

So, is it just freaking out, and do I have to redo this map?
-thanks

i think you edited something in the fx file that is wrong....maybe you have a big number in a value field of hdr or something like that

That's pretty cool, though. Anybody up for a Heaven map?

YOu cannot see anything, but that..... you get killed, the only way to tell where you are going is looking at the minimap.....

Check your sky file. What is the fog range? If it is negative numbers, that is your problem.

Try remunging. I've had that error before.

That is really cool! If you could just make it so that you can see where you are going, it would be a pretty fun map to play!

-I know that by now, but thanks anyways
And Z_13: fog range has 0,0,0,0, there are no negative numbers.....

Try cleaning and munging. Copy the default rain fx/sky files (whatever you think might pertain that you edited prior to this problem) and put them where they belong (maybe make backups of your edited versions, unless the changes are simple), then clean all, and munge.
You shouldn't have to redo the map under any circumstances, with this sort of issue, as I doubt its just..borked.
Also, this might be way out in left field, but you sure its not gfx card related? some of the tearing/artifacts in the visible portions of the map look awefully like video card issues.

NO it's not GPU related.... SO I restarted and it worked for the other map I made

no problem anymore.....

It's a good thing that was sorted out, I don't think people wanted "Giant Glowing Eyesore" to be the second map in the DotG mod

OK, now to buisiness, how can I replace this fx file?
I went into common/effects and replaced it, but it didn't work.....

unless you munge a new common.lvl and shell that won't work. copy the effect over to your worlds effect folder and then change the name of it and in the sky file change it to the new name.
as for the glow problem you had, did you edit the sky .tga? some skys (like yavin) have glow and if you remove the alpha channel then the sky will just be white/yellow and glow.
