Skinning Problems:

Post by sef0907 »

I made a brand new ep.III clone trooper from a stormtrooper msh file "Imp_inf_trooper". But I have some problems, I edited it, I saved the msh file, cleaned, munged, and replaced my imp.lvl file in the correct side folder, I played my game, and nothing happened. The stormtrooper looked exactly the same. Could someone help me?

PS. I would like to show you the skin file but I can't find a place to post it and I can't download it from my computer.

Welcome to Gametoast.

Your best bet would be to visit the "How To" sticky on the top of this forum, the click the link "A Quick and Easy Step-by-Step Tutorial to Editing Factions". Battlefront has a bit of a different learning curve. Anyways, hopefully that helps, and if not, continue to asks questions and we'll present answers.

I tried all the sticky's on this forum. None of them have anything to do with a problem in skinning. Can you or someone help?

This would be exactly how to do a reskinned character. Unfortunately, it's not like other games where it just overwrites the game's textures.

I have to create a new side, import all the republic files and rename all of them then add the modded skin and copy and paste into the regular file..... This will take a while.....

Create a new side, NOT imp.lvl, then copy the files required for your new character. Do it that way, don't replace imp.lvl.
