Do I have to hex edit the model?

Post by Slime615 »

Hello, this is a quick question. It may sound dumb, but bear with me. When I downloaded some assets, instead of one model, it gave me several, hand fett body etc. Do I have to Hex edit to get it to work?

If I do, where can I download a clone commado that is a single model?

Just to be clear, a model in SWBF1/2 uses the extension .MSH. I haven't seen a Clone Commando model released in separate parts before, aside from the backpack.

Those are the textures. The MSH format is always one model, except in cases that AQT mentioned. Some custom models have multiple textures for higher resolution, or because that's how the original author makes their textures.

Ok, So how do I tell in the ODF which textures to use, if it uses different textures? Before I would name it.... you know... Could you explain how I would do this?

the msh tells the game what textures to use..

ODF is for overriding them.

you should probably read some documentation about the fundamentals of battlefront(modding), the gettingstarted.doc in the documentationfolder for exmaple

Alternatively you could just add three simple lines to your unit ODF, like what you did HERE. The name in between the quotation marks of the first line can be whatever (it does not matter). Second line should be the name of the .MSH you downloaded (which has to be in your side's msh folder in order for it to show up). And the third is the bone you want it to be attached to. You can only have one with this method.
