wait, the 2nd wouldn't be too big because in ep6, the rebel fleet veers away from the DS2 once they realize that the shield is still up. At that point, the fleet is so close to the DS that it takes up the whole view :wink:

I had a great idea today! Mr. Green The Y-wing fighters would no longer be bombers
Trainmaster, not to be a total geek but Y-Wings have been bombers since the first Star Wars Rougue Squadron, but you are right they never were bombers in the movies.
I like your idea though

I'll take a look for the Defender tommorow. Havent had time to do anything ..very busy with FirstStrike , BF2142 beta testing and the usual neccesities of life like chasing squirrels .

I think the 2nd Pic is a worse, because the shadows hide too much of the DS.AND I like the blue-metallic-look better.

Thats strange :
Everybody says: "The Y-Wing" is a bomber, because the video games made it one.
And
Everybody says: "The V-wing" isn't a bomber, although the video game made it one.

Interesting, isn't it ?

laser shot dont ask: when the map will be ready. it will probably get you a warning. because this thread has been going on for so long that xwg got tired of those questions. on the ds question i think i got with the 1st one.

this map looks very good, and i am willing to wait a looooong time before it is out :)

XwingGuy- do you plan on putting an Imperial transport in the map? apparently there is one in the above link. Behaves exactly like the sentenial shuttle, and has glow and animated wings.

Well...there's this thing....I would need the source to really integrate it into my map because I've modified the flyers so much. The transport would seem extremely slow if I just used somebody else's side.

Example: I had to increase the speed of the conncussion missiles (used to be homing rockets) because the awing now moves so dang fast at boost speed that it could literally outrun it's own missiles.

so xwg(delta_602's abrevvation seems nice to me) wont it be hard to evade the missiles if they go veeeeeeery fast? cos well... i think ppl who played space maps have this timing for evasions and this could mess it up abit.

he did speed up the vehicles to so I think that it may be the same but just at a faster speed

x wing boost = 291.7 m/s ( was 150 m/s)
y wing boost = 277.1 m/s ( was 130 m/s )
a wing boost = 377.9 m/s ( was 170 m/s ) (holy [Diet Dr. Pepper])

m/s = meters per second

I used wookieepedia :lol:

not to rain on your parade...but is that fast enough for reasonable control by the players? i mean thats really fast, so perhaps you could cause the flyers to slow down considerably when you pull the throttle back?

looks great otherwise. can't wait. but... this has been a long time in development... its really quite tempting to ask you when it'll be out... i'm not of course but...
