yes in certain areas of the map i can stay there for the whole time, other areas will crash as soon as i enter them. There seems to be nothing provoking the crash because no one is shooting around me, no animated objects in the area, nothing. I tried messing around with the planning to control where the ai go, and it changed where the area of crash was, and remember it works fine without ai, so it seems to be oriented around the AI, but i can't figure out what. And if i have to tone down weapons, i have no clue which to tone down because no specific weapon seems to cause the crash. I'm very frustrated with the mod tools at this point, as I've had this type of problem in the past and have only been able to save myself once by creating a new data_123 folder and putting all the material in there, which appears to be what I'll have to try since I have no clue what else to do. If they could only improve the method for finding errors a little so it could be a little more specific to why a map crashes...

What areas crash it? Is there mist, fog, weird FX?

I have had this happen before, try it out in new map.... (yes I said start over) Just open up the same world and save in your new DATA_XXX. THat is with all the proper stuff; If I make no sense I'll post tommorow, I'm tired.....

yes thats what i said i would do, and i did. And i'm happy to report that it looks like i saved it, and i'm going to back up this version immediately, and if i do not have this issue again, it won't be long until the map is completed.

huh? how's that? There are no custom models yet in my map, everything is reskin.
Also, gcw works perfectly now with ai on and off, cw now for some reason crashes before the map even finishes loading instead. However, no abnormal errors are showing up which is slightly disconcerting...

ok i think i found the problem. When I put in the gnomes and acklays, it started to crash again, when i took them out, it stopped crashing and everything was fine.

YAY!!! How did you have them in? Did you have 4 Teams? Maybe if you put them both on one team then there won't be an issue.

i just took em out they weren't that necessary. All modes work flawlessly now. Now I just need to make Nixon, the drivable rock, and wait for my Yellow Submarine model to be finished.

it shoots rocks. The yellow submarine may shoot diamonds or something even stranger.

maybe torpedos that leave a heck of a lot of colored smoke in their wake?
Oh, and Dann, just a cool idea. Put different colored Omni lights everywhere so when you walk around you seem to change color.
