Starting BFBuilder

I recently dowloaded the mod tools. I go to BFBuilder and make a new map. Then when I start to go into XSI is says it needs to close. It only makes it to the start up screen. What do I do?

Not sure what you mean by XSI, do you mean when you go to start Zeroeditor after clicking Edit World? If so check that the path where you've saved the mod tools hasn't got a space in it. Check the docs that come with the mod tools to make sure it's in the right folder. Or do you mean you downloadeed the XSI softimage mod tool software which has nothing to do with BFB builder?

sorry about making it confusing,
when i start bfbuilder i make the new name mod6 and stuff, then i go to "edit mod6" and zero editor starts. it gets to the part where it shows the pandemic logo and zeroeditor logo then a window pops up saying zero editor has encountered a problem and needs to close.

sawyerd, do you have TnL on your computer?

You need to put the entire contents of the downloaded tools into a folder path with no spaces, i.e. C:\LucasArts\BFBuilder, just so long as it doesn't have a space. BFBuilder is the program that launches Zeroeditor so if zeroeditor starts up then the problem is not with BFB. Just moving BFBuilder will probably make nothing work at all. thoroughly read the documentation that comes with the mod tools download, it will explain all this. If you are 100% sure that it is all installed in the right place but that you get the same thing, check your video settings. Where you downloaded it from doesn't matter, either the file is corrupt or it's not and as you've extracted it ok (because you've got BFBuilder and zeroeditor & all it should be ok. Also (finally) try giving your world a distinctive name don't choose mod6 or similar as it'll get confusing for you, you may also accidentally forget and do something to DataMod1 or DataMod2 (not avisable). Anyway go through the included readme again, check the requirements and you're away!

do you really need TnL, because battlefront works fine without it. I wonder if it is something with the file I downloaded.

Zeroeditor has the same system requirements as battlefront so if battlefront works the so will the editor. Check that the file size you downloaded is the same as what you expect.. ie.. 400+ MB if it is then all is ok. Make absoulutely sure it's installed in the right place, have you checked the read me that comes with the tools? It has about where to save it and system requirements etc..
