Need help with vehicle hard points

i have 2 proton cannons and 2 lazer cannons and 2 engions... what kind of hp_things are needed... oh .. and do you like my model... took like 3 hours... and not finished yet.. of corse

Good looking model! I'm working on a tank myself and I'm having trouble understanding how HPs work... sorry I can't answer your question, but I wanted to say you've got a good model!

Nice looking model. As for hard points (these are all just nulls just rename them as required) you would need
hp_pilot positioned where the pilot would sit
hp_fire, hp_fire1 etc for as many weapons you intend to have. Place at the end of the barrel for the weapon
hp_exhaust, hp_exhaust1 etc if you intend to have exhaust. Place at the exhaust ports of the engines
hp_damage, hp_damage1 etc these can be put at various places on the model where you would like the damage effect to appear
hp_active usually goes the same place as the dummyroot null
that should be a good enough start

You don't need any of them but then everything relates back to the dummyroot.
Minimum you should have for a flyer is hp_pilot and assuming you intend to have weapons hp_fire

You won't need a hp_pilot if your pilot isn't actually going to be seen, and you definitely don't need a hp_active.

So if you're going to make a weaponless ship, you don't really need any of these at all?
