Singleplayer "lags"?

Well, my map is all ready to be released...except for the fact that it "lags" on singleplayer. It started ever since I added Geonosians (using a double-tipped spear) to the mix. I've managed to optimize it a bit and all but it's still "lagging" a bit. It's not horrible, but I imagine for anyone who wants to play it, it could get irritating. What happens is gameplay freezes for a split second, and, on rare occasions it lags worse.

Anyone have any ideas how I could fix? I have 5 units on one side, and 2 on the other, then 2 local teams, I can't imagine it would be due to too many fx, I've tried just about everything i can think of, nothing works.

Do you have tons of Foliage?

Nope, no foliage at all. I know it has to be a limitation in the game, because I have a top-of-the-line PC, BF2 will break before my pc.

Alright, with a stroke of luck I've narrowed it down to this two-sided spear. It was exported with MshEx, and the texture was a bit screwy, still need ideas on what it could be WITH the weapon.

Do you have to many melee characters and not proper memory pools for them? Since you mentioned a spear.

Oh boy, now that I think of it that may be it possibly, I have 4 melee units. Wow and I didn't even think of it, I'll try it, thanks!

Edit: Good idea but I don't think that's it, my memory pools are set higher than mos eisley hero assault :o Also I tested one round and replaced it with a different melee weapon, it seemed better (didn't notice any the whole match)

Yes. It must have something to do with the spear, because I've swapped it out for a vibrosword and now the lag has stopped. I might just give in, leave the locals with a vibro and release it later tomorrow.

Unlike my first map I think I'll make a thread here on GT, aside from uploading it to swbf files if you guys would like?

It's possible that the spear could have been very high poly and caused issues.

Try turning off your shadows (through the ingame video options), those are almost always causing lag.

Done it, I'm 90% sure it was that model specific, I'm testing out a new model now and will get back to you.

Dude, you dont use that many triangles for ONE spear...

Just create a cylinder and give the edges a point, or, you could use the ewoks spear?
