This one's the union trooper.
And I know the backpack looks out of place...
EDIT: Sorry for the bad resolution, I don't know what went on there.
Actually the backpack is the only thing that looks in place, except for the antenna on the side, in my opinion. While the skin is a good attempt, it still looks nothing like a Civil War era U.S. soldier, except for the blue of course.

Ok, so here's my attempt at a Union Soldier:
A simple recoloring job can turn him into a uniformed Confederate soldier, some stripes on the arms can change his rank, a beard can change his age, etc.

I'd desaturate the blue a tad bit, It stands out a little too much in my mind.

I think I should have used a different model for my soldier.

But I already used the imp_inf_officer.msh for two other soldiers...

Nice skins, everyone!
Anyways, the skins I'm about to present. I worked hard on them. And I can't go back to them because PSD's hate me when I reopen them...so I can't edit the layers. And, not to mention, I put so much work into this batch that I do not want to go back and re-do them for awhile.
I would show the officer, but I haven't taken a screen on it. And I can only view the low1.msh in the viewer to see the skin properly.
Anyways, my Death Troopers 'inspired' content, thus far (more will come. Civies, etc). It is not 'exactly' like the references, but is anything completely accurate anyways? Just accurate as one can be, right?
Only downside is that I'm still using the mirrored texture for the stormtrooper. So it looks a little odd. And I'll admit, the photosourced mouth does look weird on this model. Definitely need a new remodel for the helmet to give it a more desirable effect.
And the undead Rebel Fleet Trooper (my first Death Troopers content skin I made):
Thoughts? Please don't be TOO harsh. I worked on these for a few days.
Credits-
Sony Online Entertainment and Lucas Arts (SWG) - For both inspiration and a rendering of the Death Trooper (otherwise I could not get the 'mouth' piece from the picture and photosource it. It doesn't look perfect. Other than this, I did everything else myself)
Joe Schreiber's Death Troopers novel. (For the idea in the first place. lol)
Obsidian Dawn for their custom brushes. (otherwise, no ripped clothing, cracks, or blood drips as decent as they appear. I'm not good making completely custom stuff.)
Many Undead References Across Google (28 Days/Weeks Later, Dawn of the Dead, etc)

I always thought the stock dark trooper looked more cuddly than menacing.

@Rogueknight: looks great, only the shoulderpads look kinda weird (thanks to the UV)
my suggestion would be to make the visor brighter

@ Delta - For some odd reason, his rifle looks like a...drink container, perhaps. That's no fault of the skin, of course, but if you darkened the weapon to match his armor a bit more it'd give it a more complete appearance. I like what you did with the visor, though. Out of curiosity, are BF2 clone hands always completely black (as opposed to having a glove texture) because of the skin or the UV layout?

they are black because of the skin, I have actually made an armored glove design, so they are reskinnable, they aren't in that black pit the bodysuit is in.

Looks great @Delta, but IMO, it is a bit dark, some detail is gone.... you should try levels with it. and i like the red visor.

remade my evo-trooper skin. might go over it again to add some more black dirt spots and details.

I like it, but IMO the white one, and not so dirt EVO is much better.
