lol Squipple. I totally agree with the qwerty (as it's reffered to) and XSI's keyboard mapping
Do we all agree that this topic is more or less ready to get closed?

or are there any further questions?

I ask myself the same question sometimes...
On-Topic: Qdin, if you want to get an awesome program for architecture get ArchiCad. It's pretty incredible

haha, i actually told Qdin that he should stop closing topics unless there was a good reason, when i was admin i actually started opening up topics, its not like closing them helps anything, it does more against the community to close it.

Diet Dr. Pepper Diet Dr. Pepper XD
it somehow signed me out as I was typing

So I lost the entire long post... ._.
So I'm pretty bitchy right now, as I try to write anything again... -_-'
First of all, I'm 'eager' to post a topic because I know how it is to be new. I'm basically doing this for people who haven't followed it since the beginning.
This topic was made for questions and relevance of which Modelling Software was good and such.
Another thing is that you're actually disappointing me there, Fred : you of all should know about the psychology when browsing a forum.
Will anybody read a 20-page long topic if all the answers was given on the first 2 pages? After the following 3-4 pages they will have closed the browser(s).
If people want to have something discussed, just create a new topic so we ALWAYS can go back and easily see which one we're talking about. Also in case somethign starts up, it's better to know which one of the 5 topics it was than which pages in a topic.
We're so dedicated here so we don't just act without knowing why - that's why we read the entire topic to see the entire case. Don't tell me that's fair...
I'm just doing this as I do. it's easier this way for everybody, and people should just ask if they want somethign unlocked. it's not like we're gonna ban you for that
Jabba, there's a reason I dont' use 3ds Studio Max - especially because I find it more useable for architectural purposes..

As far as I've heard, more or less every 'Cad' Application it made for architectural purposes - rofl.
Mini, locking prevents any stupid comments or any other things which are just waste of energy. if people really had something good or right to a topic, it's either to make a new topic and link to the 'original' one or simply ask a moderator or admin to unlock it. I don't see why that's a problem.
And Fred, I'm sorry for not being born nor being educated in Profesional Adminning & Moderating In Online Communities, especially considering I've had 16 years to learn all of it since I got born!
And I haven't heard anyone complain before now about we all were 'control freaks'. But it works better than we started - so why change what works?

why worry about locking it so much, rather than people CONSTANTLY making new topics like they always seem to on things that have already been discussed just make an announcement or sticky that when looking for help just use the forum search and if you dont find anything THEN make a new topic. locking everything makes you just look like a forum nazi.
oh yeah, Fred im pretty sure your an admin so you pretty much outrank him, you can just open anything you want.

Fred isn't an admin as far as I know - at least not an official one
He was a moderator, but I dont' know why he isn't anymore...
Nonetheless, I prefer lots of smaller threads that 1 pile, and I know most other people do.
Newbies are allowed to answer the same question... but trust me when I say we don't look good on more experienced users askign a stupid question (reminds me of all the pages of questions towards Dragonum's LAAT and ATTE Drop Animation. THAT was pretty Diet Dr. Pepper)
what do you mean with 'nazi-forum'?
P.S. I can NEVER and probably will NEVER ever get the Search to work here on Gametoast. I can try searching for some of the most obvious things without any results at ALL xD Qdin I once searched for and never got more than 1 result which were a spacemap or something.
I really don't know what people see in the Search Engine when all you get is nothing.

You know Qdin, Cad actually stands for Computer-aided design... so Cad doesn't mean for architectural purposes.

Wow, that post almost tops your copyright and porting one.
Anyways, I felt I should point out that I believe there is such a thing as a stupid comment, but that is only seen when the user posts it just to annoy, or to cause trouble. Other than that I agree with you, though. Especially about keeping the topics open. I'm on a small LEGO forum (closed to the public, that's why it's small) and the moderators (me included) do almost nothing. The only topics that get closed are those posted by one of our two annoying members. It's usually something rather offensive or retarded or both. Off topic "spam" is rampant, and you know what, we like it that way. People stick around. Spam is removed when we have it (rare) but other than that....
I totally agree with you Fred.

nice speech
What about a stupid comment such as Shadow_Cat made here a week ago in a WIP Topic? On page 2 there was a "I will take 3 Beta Testers" and the next post was by me saying that it will ALL be done through PM's so the topic don't end up like spam-topics. And the author will tell when there's no further Beta Testers.
STILL Shadow_Cat decided on page 4 to post "I Wanna Beta Test!!"
if that wasn't a stupid comment I don't know what is (but yeah - we got a good laugh)
2 questions: What does 'instegators' and 'awry' mean?

And ignorance isn't stupid, even though it is stupid to be ignorant.

Epena, I can't use a dictionary if it's misspelled, which I in fact don't know if it is ior not since I've never ever heard the word befores...
lol Fred, that's the best defence he can ever have... but for me there's no excuse

Qdin, they do have a "did you mean..?" function. And only instigator was misspelled.
Fred, that's the best defense he can ever have... but for me there's no excuse
It was ignorance. As I said above...
ignorance isn't stupid, even though it is stupid to be ignorant.

yeah XSI wont run on low resolutions, i dont even know why most people here run on 800x600 when half the stuff on the side panels isnt visible because of thier small resolution, you should be on 1024x768 or higher.
