Seen a cool movie recently, or rather, remembered a winful film of your childhood? Cool! Tell us here!
I recently rewatched Batman Beyond: Return Of the Joker, and I remembered why I had enjoyed watching it before. Although not canon, it's a wonderful addition to the colorful collection of Batman, and superhero films.

That's a pretty poor reason, since any given film can spark debate.

Well, this is not about a movie that I have recently seen, but I plan on renting all of the 20-something James Bond movies one of these days and watching them again back-to-back.
My mother always had this weird crush on Sean Connery, she was always watching his movies - and forcing me to watch them as well (I was a little kid so I had no-choice). Eventually I grew fond of 007 movies and started watching them by myself, it was cheesy, but fun.
I'm on a bit of a nostalgia spree right now, so I might as well take a look at the adventures of mister Bond again...

True, although Ive noticed that lots of people, especially recently, have quips with the disney films, more than just debate, more or a hate, so to speak, so I'd just like to avoid, or warn against that.

I agree. You should change that to a "no debating movies" rule.

Well, since it's called "
Cool Films You've Seen Recently", Disney isn't relevant anyways.

jk I actually do enjoy some Disney movies, particularly Pixar-related ones that aren't Up. Buy ANYWAYS...
In the last 2 days, I've seen 2012, Terminator: Salvation and Zombieland, respectively.
My overall
opinions:
2012 was probably as good as it could've been, considering its premise. But, the CG effects were pretty fantastic, which was the biggest reason I wanted to see it. (The only other reason I wanted to see it was because I tend to like disaster movies). Nothing else to really say.
When I saw trailers for Terminator: Salvation, and then heard the mediocre reviews, I thought, "How? That looks awesome!" Now I know why. Since it's the first movie to take place post-Judgment Day, I, like many others, wanted/expected at least some awesome battle scenes. The opening scene was the coolest, in my opinion, which doesn't usually mean good things about a movie. But, I'm not one to think less of a movie because it wasn't packed full of epic CG moments & fights. It was actually the rest of the movie that disappointed me. The story was lame. Christian Bale still acted like Batman: Emo Edition, though I guess that could be acceptable, considering what all his character's been through. But still, the acting was fine, the CG was good (what little there was), but the writing was lame.
Zombieland... ahhh, good stuff. I loved that movie as much as I thought I would. It's actually relatively close to what I think the zombie apocalypse would look like. Also, Columbus' rules for survival both make sense and are pretty funny when they come up throughout the movie (particularly Cardio and Douletap). The movie never seems stupid or surreal at any point due to the characters' humor, which I really liked. Granted, that isn't always a bad thing in movies, but it can get old quickly. I donno what else to say about it, other than Bill Murray really picked an inappropriate time to pull a prank. If you haven't seen it & like zombies like I do, then
GO SEE IT!
I need more movies to watch. Any suggestions, anyone?

Don't forget that Zombieland is rated R and not all members here can see it. I slept through Terminator: Salvation when they played it at my school lol, didn't find it too interesting.
As for me:

Star Trek (in May), Terminator Salvation (the same month), Zombieland (in... October I believe.) Other than that.... nothing.
Star Trek = Awesome
Terminator Salvation = Loved it (and Raptor's opinion, I respect, but I did not find it lame in any sense)
Zombieland = Friggin hilarious
Those are my reviews of those if you summed them up into one word or sentence). And I do not wish to spark debate either, but I think not including Disney movies isn't that fair. They are movies nonetheless, and I do love Disney movies. Call me a softy, but hey.... can't help it. Not to mention being to the Disney parks multiple times.

I saw Sherlock Holmes in theaters recently. Much better than my expectations, and it's very fast-paced and almost thriller-like. The actors also got their characters personalities pretty darn well.

Saw Sherlock Holmes, actually liked it, never read or seen holmes ('cept a bbc production of hound of the baskervilles), so didn't really have any preconceived ideas.
Saw Night at museum 2 bleh sequel awfulness.
Saw Harry Potter 6, thought it was an improvement on previous couple.
Saw Avatar...opinion translates as

OMG AWESOME

and normally i dislike films without much characterisation.
Oh and while its not exactly a movie saw Battlestar Galactica Finale.....gosh, wat to ruin a great series with a terrible and somewhat confusing ending. Although final battle was...cool but ridiculous.

I agree with these, except I haven't seen any of Battlestar Galactica, and I haven't seen Night at the Museum 2.
