Yavin Trees Not Finding Leaf Texture? [Solved]

Post by Clowneater »

I added some leaftree's from Yavin into my map,and I noticed that there were no leaves in Zeroedit, but I don't think that is related, because the treegroup I added from Kashyyyk worked fine. But when I play my map, instead of leaves, I have large black squares and rectangles. I checked the .msh's for the leaftree's in my world1 folder, but all the texures they call for are in the folder. Are the yavin trees problematic or is this weird?

The textures it requires arnt just in the msh. If you look in the odf, it attaches several objects, which are in fact the leaves:

Code: Select all

AttachOdf = "yav_prop_leafpatch"

...

AttachOdf = "yav_prop_leafpatch2"

...

AttachOdf = "yav_prop_godray"
For the tree you will also need those odfs, and the mshs and textures that are for leafpatch and leafpatch2. The godray is a light object, so of course it doesn't have any msh.

I can't find an .msh for the leafpatch's. When I wanted to place them in ZeroEdit, I couldn't there wasn't a model to place and when I searched, my modtools does not have a file with leafpatch.msh or leafpatch2.msh in the name. Is that what I should be looking for?

Just look in the odfs. It has the MSH a.k.a. Geometry in there. The msh name is something wierd like hoth_prop_grass or something.

If I open of a leafpatch in ZeroEdit, should I be able to see anything by my cursor?

Probably not...why are you trying to add leafpatch in zeroedit.

Once you add the msh and tgas for it, yav_prop_leaftree or whatever should have leaves. You don't need to physically added the leafpatch things in zeroedit. They are already attached to yav_prop_Leaftree.

So what I need is the .msh asked for by the odf for the leafpatch, right?
Because I searched my modtools, but I don't have anything with hoth_prop_grass in the name.

Edit: Well I did it and the trees look beautiful. Thanks for the help!
