VRML 97 and more.

Post by Nynthell »

Hi,
I tried to make my own models. (
That´s what I did:
1. I converted the mesh into vrml with the "SWBF Viewer".
2. I imported it in Blender and changed something.
3. I exported my changed file as vrml.

And thats my problem:
SWBF-Viewer can´t open my file (there just keeps the blue screen)
Does somebody know what´s wrong? :?

EDIT
Well, i checked that I even can´t open the vrml that was exported from the viewer directly oO.
But the readme says the viewer can open vrml?

First of all, there's an odd quirk with the viewer that keeps the model from loading if you try to double click the file to open it. Instead, you have to open the mesh viewer, then grab the file and drag it into the blue part. Very odd, yes.

If that doesn't solve the problem, make sure that the "texface" button is pressed for the object's material in blender before exporting it. If it doesn't have a material create one and then click the "texface" button.

This happened to me, but when i reinstalled blender and python, it worked for me, which i found kinda weird. It should only take 15-20 minutes to reinstall it all. Also make sure you have the latest version of blender installed as i'm not sure if some of the older export scripts work with the mshviewer.

I may be wrong, but its worth a try.

Oh my god. Thank you, that was wrong. I´ll try it with a changed model again.

...and of course, keep in mind that the image file used for the texture needs to be in the same folder as the exported .wrl file. Otherwise I believe the model will appear in the msh viewer but will be entirely white.
