I have Been Following instructions as best I can. I work on the map, I save it, And use ModTools Visual Munge under .../BF2_modtools/Data_ABC/_build. But when I try to play the map in the game it crashes as soon as it finishes loading. If more info is needed please let me know. If anyone can help please do I don't want my hard work to be for nothing :!:

I have been attempting to make maps for BF2 for a few months now but Every time I get them to appear on the playlist, while they load They crash to desktop.

I'll Try that( Is registering the in the .lua when you type in the command post name?)
I told you I'm new to this
Imagine A Gizka fighting santa.
where the gizka is me and my lack of skills is the fat man.
He'd need help to fight the fat man right?
And eventually he'll evolve into a rancor
who eats Santas.
If he survives. Ha-Ha-Ha

Thanks I'll try that stuff. I'll Edit or reply if It works.
Support our gizka troops. Peace and love.
EDIT: Someone please tell me what settings to use when doing the final munging. Like what to check off and what sides thing to use: tur; everything; Common; or Nothing. and what boxes should I check off, common and localize or sound and shell.
As for the settings, Darth_Z13 I tried setting every thing to the lowest but it didn't work. :!:

You need to produce and check your error log
The first thing you should do is run the game with the BF2_Modtools.exe to produce a BFront2.log and then post it here so that everyone doesn't have to guess what is crashing your maps.

We have a very nice FAQ/"Everything you need" thread explaining a lot of things.
In the FAQ you can also find this link, explaining how to get an error log when you have the DVD version of BF2.
[Edit]The process explained for the DVD version log is a workaround. Two post below is a link to a DVD version of the BF2_modtools.exe wich is better.
Good luck!

You simply put BF2_modtools.exe (wich is located in the BF2_Modtools folder; C:\BF2_ModTools) In your Battlefront 2 Folder and run it.Question: My map keeps crashing. What's wrong?
Answer: Could be lots of things. If you have the CD version, you can run BF2_modtools.exe, which produces a debug output called BFront2.log.

If you own the DVD version and you want a real BFront2.log, you can get a DVD modtools exe, look in the FAQ thread for the link.RC-1290 wrote:In the FAQ you can also find this link, explaining how to get an error log when you have the DVD version of BF2.

Thats your munge log buddy. Copy the little icon in the BF2_Modtools folder. Do you see the little clone head that says BF2_Modtools?
Copy that to your LucasArts/Star Wars Battlefront II/Gamedata folder. Then close out and open up the BF2_Modtools application you just copied. Then BF2 will open up in windowed mode and the upper-half of the screen will be green (don't worry about that). Go to Instant Action and run your map. Then your map will crash again. Go back to the Gamedata folder and look for a Notepad file called 'BFront2'. Open that file up and copy it here
