Planning through barriers??

I noticed that on the stock Kashyyk map, the barriers totally blot out the seawall but the ai can still move around up there. Does ai planning allow the ai to move through any barriers???
If the answer is no, as i think it is, how would i go about getting the ai to maneuver the whole way along, whilst not getting them crashing into the walls?

but if i don't set them up to block out normal troops, they will just run into the seawall....

You might check the LUA files for that map. It's possible they disable and enable certain barriers and planning based on programmatically

i've been right through the conquest lua and the only disabling of barriers is for the raised gate and destroyed outer walls. there is one weird barrier called disableme though...would that be how they did it? i'm pretty sure that barrier is up the back of the REP base, where the last mission is for defending the oil refineries....

Just to reiterate, what you are saying is that there are barriers that stop the AI from trying to run though the bottom of the sea wall but they can still run along the top of it to get to the turrets or snipe and stuff like that correct.
One thing you can do in bfmodtools.exe* is render the barriers as well as show what the AI is doing, can't remember all the commands of the top of my head, but that will at least show you if there are gaps in the barriers that are allowing AI to do what they are.
*there are some really great commands that can help figure out planning and AI movement as well as finding out why the dumbheads just decide to stop and do nothing.
