2.0...
The strange and psychedelic world of Pepperland is back...
For this next and final version (and possibly the last modding project I ever make for swbfII), I will be working on greatly enhancing this map from the previous version, which fell short of my intentions.
Fixing up gameplay is the major issue. The previous version had little to no gameplay at all, with the ai wandering about lost and confused. Since SwbfII ai only know 2-dimensions, I'm making the map a little more grounded than the last one, although most units will still have the ability to fly, and the flying rock and yellow submarine will still be there. Also to improve gameplay, I have to fix up all the weapons, which were terribly designed, all with lock-on, taking all challenge out of the battle (if there was a battle).
Next, I have doubled the size of the world. I have added many new sections to the map, however, all of the old landmarks remain intact. Strawberry Fields is greatly improved, about triple it's former size, covered in flowers and juicy red strawberries that you can frolic through. Temple in the sky with the yellow submarine now sits on top of a large gold and red hill. The spinning circus and the other platform in the sky have been moved down by the town, which has been moved to a slightly different location, connected via bridge to the rotating fortress. The "sea of green" has been completed with my first successful attempt at adding water to the map.
The Gnomes and Demon Acklays, now reskinned and dubbed the "Jabberwocks," are back as locals as they were originally intended (i had to take them out of 1.0 because of crashing issues, but that has since been fixed). I am still deciding whether to have a mode where these are playable.
I will have more modes, including XL's and a new assault mode, featuring Flower People fighting off against flying Butterflies all over strawberry fields.
I have also fixed up and tripled the amount of Psychedelic Rock and Beatles music playing in the background. Though I'm still trying to get the sound.lvl to work.
Here are screens of what it looks like so far (Lots of screens):
