Super Columbine Massacre RPG

I've only just heard of this game, I've not downloaded it, I'm not going to and I'm not going to post a link. I'll post what Sky News has to say about it:
Outrage At Video Game
Updated: 11:01, Wednesday May 17, 2006

A computer game based on the Columbine High School shootings is causing outrage among the families of victims. Super Columbine Massacre RPG has become a hit since being posted on an internet site. It is based on the 1999 murder of 12 pupils and a teacher by teenagers Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. They committed suicide after the shooting spree.

Images of the pair are featured in the game, which includes crime scene photos. There are also images of terrified pupils running and crying, though it does not feature pictures of victims.

Brian Rohrbough, whose son Daniel was killed, said: "We live in a culture of death, so it doesn't surprise me that this stuff has become so commonplace. "It disgusts me. You trivialize the actions of two murderers and the lives of the innocent."

The site's creator told the Rocky Mountain News he wanted to "promote a real dialogue on the subject of school shootings".
This game sounds sick or at the very least in extremely poor taste. Post your thoughts.

Off-topic : Carbine', I guess that both Thoughts and Feedbacks would be more numerous if we allowed GameToast members watching this thread to get their hands down on the concerned Role-Playing Game, which can be downloaded from its official web-site. However, in case you would not bear this choice, be sure I will not hesitate to remove either the previous link or the whole thread through a simple Demand submitted here or thanks to GameToast's Private Messaging feature...

Um...maybe Levy just said this, but at least a link would be nice...ah well, thank you for it, Levy. Too bad it says it's "Forbidden"...or maybe it's just me.

Well, I think that's just plain wrong. There's a limit to what you can do, and I really find it wrong to make a game about a tragedy, small, ut still a tragedy. It would be like making a game about 9/11, something you just can't do. Or at least something I wouldn't EVER consider doing.

This is a very complex issue. The thing is, it is wrong to tell people what they can and can't do when it comes to entertainment- it's free speech. Unfortunately, people take the right of freedom of expression a little too far sometimes, and make something like this or find entertainment in it without fully understanding it. Well, all that does is prove something about them- they're immature, or insensitive. However, it's their choice- not ours. You can frown and complain and get outraged as much as you want, but there's nothing you can do about it except not do it yourself.

However- and I'm not saying it's now, or as bad as this game- people are going to have to become less tightly-wound about 9/11, Columbine, and the like. Before you call me sick, let me point something out- Hiroshima jokes, Holocaust jokes, Vietnam jokes, are all accepted as norm now in entertainment. You can still treat something with respect while being able to poke a little none-too-serious fun at it. This game, however, is not a good example.

Oh, (crap), it just hit me what "Columbine" is. Yeah, this is QUITE wrong indeed! Um...kinda reminds me of that game I saw on the news a while back where you had to assasinate Kenedy (or someone like that)

Off-topic : Raptor', wouldn't you be talking about the video-game having been developped by the Traffic Management Limited Company and called "John Fitzgerald Kennedy Reloaded", whose Dedicated Web-Site can be found at this URL ?...

Off-topic : As far as I know, a Macromedia© / Adobe Systems Incorporated Flash© Declension of this video-game has been equally designed and hosted on a Dedicated Web-Site, but I guess I will have to look into it more attentively in order to succeed in finding it, since it wasn't that known from even persons "accustomed" and enjoying such contents...
