Post by Ka-Ching »

Well i just got my new computer, and it has Windows 7....and to make matters even worse my dad put parental controls on it so that i cant install anything on my own.and i really like to chat on xfire. So there are 2 choices ahead of me.

Choice 1: Find out dad's administrator password.
or
Choice 2:Somebody sends me an updated version of xfire in .zip form

Please post all requests in the Request Thread because there is no way we can technically find out your dad's administrator password for you.

I'm not sure if it would stop you from downloading this but you could always install a Keylogger (which detects whatever keys are taped), then some how convince your dad to type the password to lift it. Then once he reactivates it you can look in the Keylogger and see what he typed.

Warning: Many Keylogger downloads contain viruses, so don't go downloading the first one you see. Look it up and makes sure it's legit.

I believe the parental controls are on there just to prevent that sort of thing. It's unlikely that he could actually install a keylogger, much less find one that isn't virus-riddled.

At that point the cost far outweighs the benefits. I would not be paying for the reformat of your computer because it's hopelessly trojan'd instead of just not talking to your internet buddies. Just sorta pointless, y'know?

Thats true. If his dad found out he had installed a Keylogger he would get grounded for a long time. :runaway:

Now the rules here are that you have to tell how you did it. Someone along the line may have the same issue and your fix may solve it. I've seen several forums with incomplete solutions and that really annoyed me. That's why I created this forum so we can have a source to solve or at least give a complete solution to solve technical problems and also ask for suggestions. And for future reference guys, don't talk keyloggers or any other hacking technique. Guru works hard on this site and we would hate for this to be riddled with undesirable traffic. That's the last thing he needs.

Ok, all i did is i copied the files for xfire (this should work for most applications as well, unless they have registry needed for it to work) and put it onto my usb
