This really pisses me off, I mean.. they don't mind us killing innocent alive humans in GTA 4 (they did censor GTA however) but when it comes to infected, rabid zombies that are a fantasy its a no-no? Ugh! I hate Aussie Censorship

Couldn't you just purchase it in a digital format? I am not fully aware of how video game classifications work in tandem with law (in terms of whether the consumer can use a product), but it looks like this only prevents it from being sold in stores, right?

I'm not sure if it would work digitally either. On Steam, Red Faction Guerilla came out a couple of days before it did in Australia and I wasn't able to purchase, so they may be able to completely remove it. Other than that I could always import although it is quite a hassle.

Some sites have U.S. and international stores; again this will belie my inexperience with this type of service, but couldn't you just purchase from the U.S. store?

US games have different formats compared to Australia/Asia/some other places. US is NTSC and Australasia is PAL. I'll find a way to get L4D2 though.

Valve's dissappointed in that result and has EA trying to get it to pass.

Might be looking better for us Aussies:

Valve must really care about us... and our money. XD

EA is the one who cares about the money. Although I could still be picturing the old EA. I think it's more fan service. Plus it's not that different from L4D.

The report states that the Australian-specific version of Left 4 Dead 2 “no longer contains depictions of decapitations, dismemberment, wound detail, or piles of bodies lying about the environment”.
Congratulations, L4D2 is now rated E for Everyone!

I have a feeling if the edited version is the one sold, some "anonymous person" will provide the source files to change it back to the original on the internet.
This person will probably be the one who released the Meet The Spy video early.

No one talking about the other news?

When I heard "Scavenge" It made me hope it was something like Zombie Panic! for some reason. I must say I was extremely disappointed.

I actually like this idea. It seems like it's going to be extremely unbalanced though (too hard for the survivors). I wonder how they'll fix that.

The way I understand it, Left 4 Dead's MP is always unbalanced against the survivors. Like they said in the article, rounds consist of each team playing once as the survivors and once as the infected and a winner is selected based on both rounds (isn't that the way L4D multiplayer already works anyway?).

The reason why it's unbalanced is because you nearly always make it to the end of a level as Survivor, and Valve intended you to only get as far as possible (And not finish). Personally, I think the whole Versus scoring system should change. (Considering you get 1000s of points for finishing, and only a couple hundred if you don't.)
I dunno. Scavenge sounds sort of interesting, but it doesn't sound fun at all. I can imagine the Infected camping at the capture zone and just waiting for the Survivors to come back. Since you'll probably have to carry the cans (And won't be able to shoot) You'll get insta-capped before you can drop the can and get out a weapon.
Heh. I wouldn't be surprised if Valve implements something where you have to wait to deliver the cans which leaves you totally immobile. Spitters would have a field day.

There's this nice little thing I like to call teamwork. One person carries the can, and you've got three other guys with guns (or melee weapons) to kill the infected. And you can still melee with gas cans, so you aren't completely helpless.

And they can position the Generator in an area that inhibits people from dong mass sneak attacks.

Still. If you want a significant amount of cans, you're going to neeed to have at least 2 Survivors carrying cans, and that leaves two Survivors to kill 4 SI.
And I'm sure there'll be tanks and CI...
Meh. It could just be me, but I see this as any competent team easily getting the Survivors in a minute or two.
