Republic dooms day: snow

at the moment me ipodzanyman guitarman and dragon93 are making a map pack called the republic dooms day which goes with the CIM pack.

guitarman is working on a forest map, ipodzanyman is working on his moon map and i am working on a snowy map.

i cant say much about theres i will let them explain theres.

on my map at the moment there is a huge hill in the middle where there are tunnels running throgh it. i have a reskinned great yavin temple so it has a more icey feel. i have a hoth main hanger and a crashed republic cap ship. and last but deffenatly not least... i have the whole rhen var citadel map in one corner. completely set up and ready to be played on.

dragon93 is making skins and sides for my map they look awesome.

1. Change the sky.
2. Make the terrain bumpier.
3. Possibly add rocks and such to make the terrain less boring.

How about adding a snowstorm or at least falling snow?

As for the name, how about Republic Doomsday: Blizzard Strike?

I think Republic Doomsday 2 would go best with the series, since the first one was likewise unnamed.

But Ipodzanyman planned to make a "Republic's Doomsday:Icy Dilemma" map, so the name is rather correct.

But this makes me wonder whether you're truly a member of a RDD-team (if there's one), cuz I. wanted to do a snow map on his own.

PS: Excuse me If I'm wrong - I haven't visited the forums for a week or two, so I probably missed a lot.

PPS: The skin is nice, but seeing the enourmous size you plan, I recommend that you put in a lot of speeders.

i agree with Protector_Pulch you should add A LOT of speeders, and you should make'em lightning fast, speeders are fast manouvering-hard-to-control vehicles after all....
and as this level is huge you should add bumps + the speeders to make it harder for them to manouver.
else this looks like its going to be very good, i like the skins too.

Hehehe. I got a good idea. How bout you reskin a Rancor to look like a giant Wampa. And maybe make Wampas as locals. And if you do not mind Wazmol, I might start advertising my mod here. Heheheehe.

wazmol69, your map is set on an ice planet. To take Darth_Maul's suggestion a little further, you could add a snowstorm effect to make the feel a little more... bitter. Just find a way to reskin the dust effect used on Geonosis to a white or grey color. This would add nice environment effects to your map I think. 8)

Yes we are all making a mappack if you want to join on this pack my xfire is ipodzanyman :wink: keep up with the good work wazmol69, just remember "creepy" or "eerie" and amBUSHing will need to be included :wink: I think it needs to be our signature.....

A good name for this map would be RDD:Cold Death, or RDD: Frozen Flesh(refering to the dead Clones lying around) or RDD:Northfall (combining the cold area(north)and the ship crash(fall)).

PS:
Uuu-ooh. Ipodzanyman says: "just remember "creepy" or "eerie"" - and now take a look at his post count (it was 666, for those who miss it) - oh, I have a bad feeling about this.

The beta is ...well empty. VERY empty. The tunnels are glitchy And the Republic vehicles get stuck behind the mountain. However I like the way that you gave the CIS a lot more vehicles then Republic. A suggestion: try adding more mountains, maybe rain (btw could someone PLEASE tell me how rain works), and downed AT-ATs and other stuffs like that. And fix up that sky. It doesnt fit in. And IpodZanyMan, how do you get ambushes to work?

Darth_Z13, I think your idea was great, to have it on Toola, and Commander Keller as the hero. That would be awesome! Just reskin the hooded anakin to make his robe white, and his face like comander kellers, then change the odf line: AnimationName=anakin to AnimationName=soldier :) that should work. O and give him some kind of awesome weapons, like binoculars that call in airstrikes, and maybe a knife!
