I really don't like the new bright sky. Any chance it will go back to the dark gray foggy sky.

Re: Kashyyyk: Kachirio - Yup, it's still coming
To be honest, the sky is the last thing on my mind atm.Grev wrote:I really don't like the new bright sky. Any chance it will go back to the dark gray foggy sky.
To explain that, here's an update on my progress:
I have most of my gamemodes up and running. There are several problems, though. First and foremost, I can't seem to close off the tree areas for certain modes (such as conquest), because using dynamic arcs (planning graph connections that you can turn off with the script) just phail for me. Second, because there are certain points at which the AI just walks right off of a platform or ramp, and gets stuck. Tried making AI death regions, but so far no luck. Both of these shouldn't BE problems, but somehow they are.
I get a sneaking suspision that "patch size is too large when [soandso] arcs are bloced!" means that the two areas you just separated have too many hubs/connections. It doesn't make sense to me why it would be that way, but it seems to fit with what it is saying. If anyone knows what that error message really means (in case I'm wrong), please speak up.
In brighter news, the gameplay is excellent so far. Extremely chaotic....a little unbalanced, but I will do as much tweaking as I can on that front.

Yea, I think the old one fitted the map much better. In the movie there was a dark sky, too.Grev wrote:I really don't like the new bright sky. Any chance it will go back to the dark gray foggy sky.

It's great to see that it is coming along well. For the sky I am not sure if there were in the film but if there were you could have some low(ish) flying Venators?

Re: Kashyyyk: Kachirio - Yup, it's still coming
I wanted to let you all know: I have another project that I just concieved (and am very excited about), and I really am sick and tired of working on this map. Yes, I will finish Kashyyyk, but I'll be cutting corners and trying to finish it as quickly as possible instead of trying to make every little detail correct. You guys can give input once I release the beta, but odds are I'll only be fixing the big things.
So it's kinda good news and bad news. I'll try to keep you guys updated (even in cutting corners it's kinda slow work for me - free time is always very limited).
Also, rest assured that the lessons I learned while developing this map (don't try to do too much with a single map, for example) will be applied to the new project.

nice to hear its almost here

now that is what really counts. as long as you did that then the map was a successjangoisbaddest wrote: Also, rest assured that the lessons I learned while developing this map (don't try to do too much with a single map, for example) will be applied to the new project.
