.....that was seriously a guess? o_O Well, I guess it could've been worse.

Good job thus far, Eggman!

Eggman wrote:I have to say, you guys are a lot better at the guessing game (or maybe just a lot nerdier :P ) than the folks at ModDB. I'm getting answers ranging from "that place where Plo Koon dies" to "a bridge on Kashyyyk" to "part of a Hyena bomber."

Welcome to my world. The folks at ModDB, are not the sharpest tools in the shed(on the off chance someone from ModDB reads this, I apologize and it was not directed at you). Here at GT, we all know eachother to a certain degree and know that we are for the most part, a group of decently intelligent guys. I can't say the same for the people at ModDB. [/offtopic]

In regards to the map design, I think he can do just fine on his own. So there's no need to give suggestions.

The bridges don'tactually sway in-game, but that's how they would act in "real" life.

And I definitely wasn't saying that folks at ModDB are stupid. That was just a little bit of gentle ribbing. :?

Ah well, my patience with them has been worn thin. If I had a nickel for every time they asked me when my TCW mod is coming out or for every time they ask me to add something new to the mod, or for every time they complain about the smallest of things...

Anyway, I never called them stupid, at least not directly. Not all of them are like that of course. They just really get on my nerves sometimes. In the end they are ok, or I wouldn't be on ModDB at all. Regardless, sorry for the offtopic banter.

Eggman has already replied that he doesn't want to make two bridges. Perhaps you could make a map with two swinging bridges, if you're fond of the idea? :)

With the end of the Fall semester, I've finally had time to sit down and work on this project for the first time in about two months. My goal for the next couple of weeks while I'm on break is to make some progress on the massive amount of modeling I have to do for Cato Neimoidia. Making the bridge model I posted earlier was the easy part - now I have to create tons of buildings and small props, each with the intricate detail befitting a world populated by rich snobs. :P

The first bit I'm going to tackle is the interior of a mansion. Here's an early WIP shot of a ball room/grand hall type of area:

That will be sort of the main hub of the building. It will house a CP, and some hallways will branch off from the balconies to lead to other areas. I normally wouldn't show work that is so far from completion, but I want to let everyone know that I'm still plugging away. Cato Neimoidia in particular is going to take a long time to complete, so I'll probably post more pictures of the models as I work on them, rather than wait for months until I finally get everything in-game.

The Cato Neimoidia mansion is progressing nicely (albeit slowly). The basic structure is complete, so I've posted some images below:

A few details are still missing, such as railings on the balconies and stairs, but I should be able to move on to my next task fairly soon - either applying textures to this building or creating the model for a new one.

Looks really nice, Cato Neimoidia's population is very rich and powerfull, it'll be nice with all the ornaments in gold and red once finished.

A few screenshots from Saleucami that reflect some changes I've made recently. The map got a minor facelift with a new texture for the large bulbs. The 91st Clone Legion has also made its debut in this map (Commander Neyo model/skin courtesy of Mars Marshall and AceMastermind). Delta-1035 was kind enough to send me his Stass Allie skin for use with kinetosimpetus' robed Jedi model, so the legion comes complete with its appropriate hero unit!

And that leaves us with the ridiculous contraption that the Magnaguard is holding. After toying around with different weapon loadouts, I decided to revisit some of the stock unit's weapons, namely the Bulldog RLR. The idea of a rocket-shooting pistol is inherently ridiculous, but it's a lot of fun. I figured I might as well make an equally ridiculous model for the weapon, and the result wound up being four miniature rocket tubes strapped to a slightly edited CIS rifle. I'm quite pleased. :) The standard electrostaff-wielding Magnaguard will certainly show up somewhere in the mod, just not in standard Conquest gameplay.
