WIP- Mon Calamari: The Battle of Dac

MON CALAMARI: THE BATTLE OF DAC
------------------------------------------------------------
Plot Outline: Mon Calamari is on the brink of civil war. The Quarren have declared their loyalty to the Separatists, while the Mon Calamari stay true to the Republic. However, the CIS have intervened, and it is clearly time for the Republic to take action. They have sent a battalion of scuba troopers, led by Kit Fisto, to the seas of Dac. The two forces engage in a fierce battle. However, as the battle rages on, both sides find themselves having to descend lower and lower, and eventually sink, into the city itself.

Eras: Clone Wars

New Units: Republic - Scuba troopers
Republic - Kit Fisto (hopefully)
Locals - Quarren (hopefully)

New Weapons: Quarren - Trident (hopefully)

Water Effects: -Floating water particles
-Blue light
-Water pressure on units
-Blur
-Altered sky texture
-Water reflection on some surfaces

Ok, so I created new buildings for this map, so here are pictures of the models in XSI (although I now have them ingame):

Unfortunately, as I learned from Vyse, it's almost impossible to create new swim animations for the scuba troopers. So, I have them walk in the map. Anyways, here is a pic of the scuba trooper:

Since I needed a moddable Kit Fisto for this project, I made a new player model. Here is how it looks in XSI:

I'm also creating quarren models for hunt mode

Don't worry if the models' textures seem undetailed. They're in textured mode (as opposed to texture decal), so while it does show light and shadowing, it drowns out some textures.

WOW this is amazing are the new building going to be able to walk in?

Nahh...unfortunately not. The gameplay style is more 'bridges and platforms' kind of like what you see on Kamino.

It's a bit smaller than kamino though. Because underwater, you move slower, so if I made a map the size of kamino...it would take a while to get anywhere. But don't worry, gameplay's still pretty good. XD

the new map models are pretty good, just add a lil more detail to the textures like dirt, scratches and all that so everything doesnt look so 'neat'.

Do you mean the buildings? If so, then really, adding that kind of detail won't do much. I made it so that things look blurry underwater, so that kind of detail won't show through. If you are talking about my player models, well, you can't see texture detail that well through texture mode (as opposed to texture decal), however, I will admit that the textures don't really have that much detail. But seeing as I already sent it to Qdin for exportation, there's really nothing I can do at this point to Kit Fisto. I'll do what I can for the quarren.

Yeah because now it looks new and it's supposed to be under the sea where fish and other creatures have passed. Maybe even Blaster Fire. Just my thoughts.

On the scuba skin, I would use both versions, in my opinion. Adds variety. :)

Looks very cool. I recommend making an extra buble effect comming from the helmet of the clones... unless all the air they breath stays inside their suit. If not, you can make it as a "buff" like healthregen, without any effect exept for the bubles, if you know what I mean....

@ Galacticmarine -- those green ball-thingys would work well on a Otoh Gunga map. We can just retexture them to orange :P

Nice work overall. The models look great. The only crit I'd give is that the Quarrens 'toungues' (what would you call them? :P) need to be a bit chunkier, a bit longer, a bit lower and slightly more vertical so they look like they're hanging. Looks awesome though!
