I don't know if you heard, but it has been nearly impossible to get to Facebook and mostly Twitter due to a botnet denial of service attack lately starting yesterday, it still continues a little today, but most of all, I believe youtube is down, i go there it takes forever to load and all it loads is an ad.
Not everyone experiences these problems, but almost everyone is! What do you guys think about it.

I didn't have any trouble with FaceBook over the past few days. I don't use Twitter but heard about the DoS attack on it.

Yeah, I've been reading about all this stuff too, first I've heard about it. I don't really see how it accomplishes anything... maybe bragging rights?
It's stupid IMO. But yeah, I was reading about it, and it's a pretty interesting thing. Does anyone really know of a way to make sure your computer is safe from being turned into a zombie in a botnet? I guess just being careful of what you do on the web, where you go, and make sure your firewalls are working, right?

Same as any preventative virus protection (because that's all you're really fighting). Browse safe.

im gonna say they both get Dos attacks non stop. any decent firewall will close off/inform techs about router issues and Its so easy to change router detail/port secure now days 'dos' is so...yesterdays' scaRY. dont ask my im just a server admin.
Ive been using both facebook from 3 different networks and an iphone as twittering without a single/slow/issue.
If i renamed this topic it would be "people who dos only get the honor of having people post topics about what they did, otherwise its like sitting in a dark closet, no one knows or cares. Its viral only to those with nothing better to do. Ancient chinese say : A rumor and gossip requires your participation. to kill the rumor is to ignore it. ok 'tofu O the day' said i goto the beach now.

QFT
facebook is as safe as you want it to be, so hypothetically, with max security its just as safe as this safe if you browse safely (i've never had any problems with facebook, you just have to recognize whats good/bad)

Apparently it was done to prevent a single person (a Georgian blogger) from being heard.
