I want to make it clear that I'm not the one doing the converting. I'm merely the 'test subject' who checks out the model and tweaks textures and odfs and whatnot.

So who is this "secret" person that is converting the models?

i have the player models in XSI already, but we arent converting them because our sources arent compiled, theyre raw XSI files. i dunno if any of the models are gonna be released or not but if they are theyll be in msh format so no one else could cleanly decompile them.

When was this game out? That arena model looks , how should I say this ..... unsatisfactory

I think it was released in 2001. It also looks terrible because the model was viewed from a distance in a cutscene.

ahh .. that'll be why then. Well at least you can tell its geo arena.

I remember playing the jedi mode on CW in the arena, that was fun. Especially playing as obi & yoda.

Hmmm... now there's an idea -- Jedi Academy mode. Have things come at you in waves.

Tean, I think the map looks really good. At least you can tell it's the Geo Arena. You've done a good job on it so far. Are you going to finish this map so as it's like, a real map, or is it just a test? Because if you're not going to really finish it, I can probably help out with it to try and get this map nice and finished and out to the public. I've been waiting for a good Geo Arena map.

Did they use the same arena model for the cut scene and the Jedi Academy multiplayer mode? ...Great fun, btw...

All this converting is really making me want to go play the game now. If these models are ever released I'll definitely have to make some replica maps.

Well whatever. I've said many times it's just a test of the models. They obviously don't cut it.

well that model was used in just a cutscene and you only see it for a quick second and its kinda far away, theres probably a different one for the multiplayer map but that one probably is only modeled on where it is seen since the camera is at top view so alot of it might not even be there.

Yeah I don't care about the arena models. I'm more excited that they're working than anything else. I really am looking forward to using Clone Wars models. It's one of my favorite Star Wars games and I'll love to bring it's feel and gameplay into Battlefront.

Thoughts:

Map - map-arena is fantastic!

Sides: i think what jedis side has very many 2-lightsabers-jedi and dualsabers-jedi.
Droids must have only sbd, battle droid, droidekas and geonosisans.

And idea - battle protocol droid - c3po`s head and battle droid body:)

P.s. imho - xl mode for this map more interesting

I won't be updating this map. It was only a test.

Conquest mode has 100 droids vs 25 jedi, so it is XL mode.
