Here it is kids, squeddies mappack

Readme:

Installation instructions:
1. Download and install the patch if you haven't already. http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/Battlefront2.htm
2. Unzip SqueddiesPack.zip into your "C:\Program FilesLucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon" folder. If the addon folder doesn't exist in that location, create it.
3. Now the maps in the pack will show up in the game in your list under the appropriate title

- added ambient sounds (waterfall, water, generator, caves, steam)

Eddie's Dantooine (ED1) - converted by squipple
Version: PackFinal

Image

About the map:
This is a BF1 map designed by Eddie. A great sniping map. Features command posts surrounding a large trench, with an island in the middle linked by two bridges.

Heroes:
GCW:Pilot Luke/Darth Vader
CW:Mace Windu/Count Dooku

Map features:
Conquest
1-Flag
2-Flag
Hero Assault
Classic Conquest (if the SWBF1 mappack is installed)

Fixes for the pack:
- filled in the water
- added ambient sounds (crickets)

Eddie's Italia (ED9) - converted by squipple
Version: PackFinal

Image

About the map:
I believe this is a remake of a popular Counter Strike map. It was loads of fun in Battlefront 1 and now with this conversion, is loads of fun in Battlefront 2. Especially Hero Assault.

Heroes:
GCW:Han Solo/Emperor
CW:Obi-Wan/Darth Maul

Map features:
Conquest
1 Flag
2 Flag
Hero Assault
Classic Conquest (if the SWBF1 mappack is installed)

Fixes for the pack:
- changed CW heroes
- added ambient sounds (courtyard music)

Eddie's Kastel (ED5) - converted by squipple
Version: PackFinal

Image

About the map:
This is a BF1 map designed by Eddie. Lots of close-quarters whats-around-the-next-corner fighting and lots of fun rooftop combat in hero assault.

Heroes:
GCW:Chewbacca/Boba Fett
CW:Ki-Adi-Mundi/General Grievous

Conquest
1-Flag
2-Flag
Hero Assault
Classic Conquest (if the SWBF1 mappack is installed)

Fixes for the pack:
- fixed a minor 'flicker' that only happens on ATI cards

Eddie's Tynna Valley - converted by squipple
Version: PackFinal

Image

This is a BF1 map designed by Eddie. It's been trimmed down quite a bit to keep within the constraints of Battlefront 2.

Heroes:
GCW:Leia/Cloaked Anakin
CW:Aayla Secura/Darth Maul

Map features:
Conquest
1-Flag
2-Flag
Hero Assault
Classic Conquest (if the SWBF1 mappack is installed)

Fixes for the pack:
- none

Nelvaan: Village - by squipple
Version: PackFinal

Image

About the map:
This location was featured in the Clone Wars cartoon. It's set in and around the village, and includes the Nelvaanians that inhabited it in their combat gear. Although there was no combat actually in the village in the Clone Wars, it does make for a great combat location.

Heroes:
GCW:Squyy Dazo/Boba Fett
CW:Obi-Wan/Asajj Ventress

About the Jedi:
Squyy Dazo (Sq-why Dah-zoe) is a Zabrak trained in the art of the Sith, much like Darth Maul. Squyy didn't agree with the dark side and ways of the Sith, and was able to disband. The Jedi order couldn't trust him, and would not take him in, so he went to hide from the Sith on the planet of Nelvaan. The Nelvaanians took him in and gave him the tattoos on his face. Since the planet is so cold, he developed a new force power, force heat, to keep himself warm. In its most extreme use, it can be a very powerful weapon, but only at short range.
The jedi's name, like many Star Wars names, comes from a combination of the creators names.

Asajj Ventress was also in the clone wars cartoons, so I thought she'd make a good fit here, even though she was never shown on Nelvaan. Plus Grieveous was causing problems with the map :)

Map features:
Conquest
1-Flag
2-Flag
Hero Assault
Hunt

Fixes for the pack:
- increased damage of Squyy Dazo's Force Heat
- added ambient sounds (fire)

Gametoast for keeping this game alive.

If you're a modder and you like what you've seen in these maps, a large collection of models used in these maps can be found in the squeddies mappack source.

----------------------------------------

This pack installs into one folder, saving you precious slots for other maps. Be sure to delete your ARF, NEL, ED1, ED5, ED7, ED9 folders if you have previous versions of these maps, as this pack replaces them all.
The squeddies server is up for all to enjoy. 'squeddies pack'

This pack also marks the end of my modding for BF2. I'll still be around GT, answer q's, and make a model or two for you guys, but I need to get some other projects done. Thank you all for your help and time. It was fun, and I hope to start up again when/if BF3 or something comparable comes around. (crosses fingers)

ENJOY!

Great Work with the Final Pack,Squipple.
All Maps in One Folder is very cool, but i think this causes a Problem.Your Maps don`t have Locals. So its grievous to find them.

Image
This is the Order:
1.Dantooine
2.Tynna
3.Kastel
4.Italia
5.Nelvaan
6.ARF
If i played them in this Order( only Conquest Mode),i have had a CDT after loading Nelvaan. Then i played Italia,Nelvaan and ARF and everything was fine.
Is there a Way to fix the Thing with the Locals?

That is so weird. I don't get that. Then again, you have German.

Posted: Tue Mar 20, 2007 11:51 pm
by squipple
Yeah it's the german thing I'm sure. I don't know why that happens or how to localize for german..I thought it was all done at once when you munged.
I'm aware of the CTD thing. Also don't know how to fix that. NEL just has that problem I guess.

It's caused by only filling in the English values when you localize. Since there's nothing in the German localization, it comes up blank.

The other Final Versions of the Maps (you released them all at Filefront) have German Locals only the Finals from the Pack are without.
With the CDT Thing i can live, :P ,sometimes i have the same with the ConversionPack. But i think if you shut down your squiddie Server ,i will reinstall the -old- Finals.

Is it possible to fill in the English Values in the German Localization,so that the Map-Names aren`t blank and show everthing??
