Is it possible to take a model from another game and put it in swbf2. Or are we not supposed to do that. If its ok, can we release it, or only for personal use. (from another game)
Would i just convert it to msh or something?
Lets say its a tank model from battlefield.

If the model was released by the developers, its ok, as long as you credit them. If the model was made by another person, you need to ask their permission before converting.

It is illegal to use models from a game that weren't released, an example being JKA.

JKA playermodels were released, so its ok to use those.
JKA weapon models were not released, so those are a nono.

There is a very broad definition of "released." It would not be ok to port SWBF1/2 models to another game, despite the fact that the modtools are available for free download. I don't know the specifics behind why some models are ok and why others are not, but it is the wisest course of action to only convert models that are made by modders, and then only with their permission.

As far as I know you can port whatever you want as long as you don't release it.
