Off-topic : With time, many other "
mirror servers" - Different from
FilePlanet - will host
SWBF II Mod Tools, and you'll be able to get a
complete list of them by looking at
this Google results' page... (Currently,
only FilePlanet is listed, but be sure other "
major" servers will appear soon...)
PS : Je suis heureux de constater que
même la France compte des représentants sur la scène internationale du "
modding" pour
Star Wars Battlefront I and
II...
Encore bravo,
Le_Jedi' !...

Kaos66 wrote:k that thing that u guyz r talkin about is a sort of SPTest
and i know how 2 wrk it
all u have 2 do is put the BF2_modtools.exe thingy in ur gamedata folder and it wrks (i know cos i tried)
and the funny thing is if u look at the date on the top of this thing it says January 31 (mayb thats wen tools were supposed 2 be released)
so I just reinstall it in the gamedata? and it works?
~EDIT~
my BF2_ModTools folder is in gamedata, the install thingy inside of it, and it still says insert CD1! What do I do now?
~EDIT2~
hey Jabba, did u get it to work? if so, how?

kajong, your current problem reminded me the one encountered with
Star Wars Battlefront's
ZeroEditor, when this program warned you the game wasn't installed while you were trying to run it... In that case, launching
SWBF, exiting the game and executing
ZeroEditor sufficed to make it working... Maybe you should try this with
SWBF II Mod Tools ?

You can Also download star wars battlefront 2 mod tools at:

Have fun!

Okay... the only thing that is affected by the "Insert CD 1" error is the BF2_modtools.exe which kinda stinks out loud, considering i was looking forward to using the new version of SPtest
~EDIT~
Forgot to say this but... whenever there is a mod map in my addon folder, BF2 won't launch and then when i take it out, the game works again. And i have the update installed
~EDIT2~
How did i forget this error? When i munge any level (an empty level or my own creation) the addon folder has the three letter name of my level but the level folder is empty

Could you give us additional details on the "
mod map" you've placed into your "
AddOn" folder, please ?

(Such as the names of the
existing worlds / entities you've used in order to design it, the "
[ModID]" you've chosen, etc...)
PS : Currently, I can't download
SWBF II Mod Tools, since
Star Wars Battlefront II isn't installed on the PC I'm using. However, I'd wish to know what the file named "
swbattlefrontiimodtools.exe" is
exactly... (A
WinZIP "
Self-extracting" Archive, an
InstallShield Wizard, etc...)

the "swbattlefrontiimodtools.exe" is an installshild wizard that installs the modtools to directly in the c: drive (or at least on my computer). Where do they go after that? I put them in the gamedata folder.

If compilers included into Star Wars Battlefront II Modification Tools are as "sensitive" as those coming with SWBF Mod Tools, then you should highly avoid moving the folders the mentioned InstallShield Wizard has extracted into your Hard Drive's root ! ("C:\")

You're welcome,
kajong...

Also, do not hesitate to launch a search inside the "
SWBF1 Modding" section if you're facing problems with
SWBF II Mod Tools, since this
Software
Development
Kit and
Star Wars Battlefront's own common "foundations"...

Does that mean that you just have to install it in the already choosen directory or??
Also many ppl say that it should just be runned of the program folder, but as that file that is opening is NOT the bf2modtools.exe, so if a file is released in some way it has to work or is it just unused?
I would aprisiate a more clear answer
Thanks

If i install the mod tools it wont work, if i run the exe it says there is a problem inside it, the uninstall doesn't work either

.(maybe its just because its the version from filefront) I am gonna try from fileplanet now.
