Shows you what model is what. ;) Nice job, squipple, if I wasn't doing so much makeup work, I'd take a world. If you need people in a few weeks, I'm game.

Do the .xml files need to be sperate per model or are you complieing them all into 1 .xml file?

All one XML file. Might as well make one big list for quick access. You can put in the notes what planet it's from and details like that if you wish.

This sounds sweet :P The contribution insturctions sound simple enough...I think I might help (for a change  )I'll do Mos Eisly.

What do we do about things that use more than one odf object? :?

For example...?

All of this seems like a lot of work, cataloguing and all. If you want, I can make a command line based program that would let you type in an odf name and see what models and textures that it requires.

Hey, squipple, I think Naboo is small enough that I can do it now.

btw, can't you write an interface to let people enter pictures, notes, names and all that stuff, and enters everything into the xml itself?^^
I could try that but i'm currently making a homepage for someone so this could take a week or two ;)

Since you're now doing stock worlds, too, could you organize the models by planet? Like, have a map selection dropdown bar at the top or something? The sheer amount of models is staggering, I LOVE the idea, but it could get to be very annoying if it was all just in one list.

Well, come to think of it, sometimes all one list would be good, and other times no. So if you could just add a map section, and at the top of it an 'all' category, that would be fantastic.

@ doofi - yes, I could, but it seems kinda pointless since you're doing that in the XML file anyway. Is it that hard to fill out a few lines of XML?

@ Epena - I thought about that too, and I'm torn as you are. If I'm looking for a 'tunnel' I guess I'd rather scroll through a big alphabetized list of things to the "t's" than searching through world after world of objects. You can always put what world it's from in the notes area.
I'm gonna have to be sold on it's usefulness more to change it I think.

actually nothing, but I still like typing into an interface better :P
nah, it's not necessary, nvm ;)

Sure, if you're looking specifically for a tunnel. But what if you're just looking for mechanical stuff? It doesn't have a specific general name like 'tunnel' or even 'pipes'. I'd hate to have to go through every single model to find the five that I want, but know are from Mustafar. Or whatever.

you could also implement a search, or simple thumbnail pics.

@Squipple: Could you please answer my question from the last page?

Also, I have taken the pictures of all the Mos Eisly Buildings and edited them so you can see them. I just need to make the little code things and crop. There are a few unfinished objects in there (untextured). SHould I include them? :|

trainmaster - I think I might change the effects section to say "effects/attached". Then we can include things like attached lights and foliage type things.

But what about objects that are snapped together, like chunks in a capital ship? :|

by squipple
well, how would you like to see it in there?
First I guess I'd discren whether or not the it'e is really useable. Would I purposely place that those a map for any reason?
If so, I guess each piece's odf should be a separeate object. If the only way you'd use those objects is when all are placed and snapped together, I guess I'd lable them all as "capital ship" and put all the odf's in the "effects/attached" part, and explain it in the notes.
