Dog Tag Challenge

We're thinking of running a BF2142 Dog Tag Challenge for GT members.

It would be a week long event with the simple objective of collecting as many dog tags as possible. Now before you go on a random knifing spree it should be explained that currently all I'm trying to gauge is interest in the competition. If we get enough people interested then we'll get things sorted to get it underway.

There would be no restrictions with regards to servers, modes, games, online times etc... you need only abide by the BF2142 rules of engagement.

At the end of the week the increase in dog tags and increase in time played would be taken from your stats and compiled to produce a results table.

If you're interested in taking part then simply post the BF2142 username that you would want entered below.

Roll Call so far:

ARC - HI_VLTG3
Ipodzanyman - Ipodzanyman
Murdocr - Murdocr
Squirrel7Hunter - xPrivateHunter
Talibanman - Cpt.Aether - A.W.O.L.

Thanks soldier you've been added to the list. 8)

We'll need at least 10 guys to make this worth while starting. Remember you don't need to be on at specific times, or on a specific server, or even part of a squad, you can play Conquest or Titan, whatever you prefer it's completely up to you. :)

Feeling put off because you know you have only a small amount of time to be online? Do not fret, tags per min will also be taken into account.

These GT only challenges are a good way of honing our various skills in between clan matches etc... If the interest is there then we would be more likely to repeat these challenges for other parts of your BF2142 stats.

Now go forth and rally the troops!

HI_VLTG3 is in. I'll try and check these forums more for updates. Really not a good 2142 forum.

With increased interest more stuff is more likely to be added. I have many ideas in the pipeline but to be honest if no one looks at the forum or posts then I've got to admit I'm I'm teetering on the "can't be arsed" side of things. Maybe there will be renewed interest with "Northern Strike" which would be good, in the mean time spread the word about the Dog Tag challenge amongst your GT buddies, it really is as simple as submitting your username and playing how you want, a contest week will be designated later.

A possible monthly stats update is possible for those who wish to easily be informed and compare, but again there needs to be the interest.

Rally the troops!!

How exactly will this work? I already have many dog tags, so how would you know how many I got in a few days?

we'd sort out a week that was good for most people, then at the start of the week details would be taken from the players stats, stored and then compared with the stats at the end of the week. ie start of the week LtFalcon has 54 dog tags, at the end of the week there's 74 tags then we know you've gained 20 in the week. A table will be drawn up with the person with the most tags gained durinng that week at the top, the person with the least at the bottom. Ok now to take into account the fact that some people have more time than others then time played will also be taken into account. For instance if someone only plays for half an hour and gets 5 tags, his tags per time ratio will be better than someone who's played for 2 hours and only got 10 tags. ope that makes sense. Basically once a week has been sorted all you need to do is knife away in whatever map, style, mode or whatever and the change in details will be assessed from your stats.

You up for joining in?

Ah... I see. I'm not in, doubt I'll play at all in the next week. Haven't played in a LONG time.

We'd all decide on which week would be easiest for the group as a whole, we can be flexible. See you it goes, if you change your mind then you're free to join up. :)

Is it only unique dogtags or dogtags just by themselves, because I got about 5-8 more uniques, but I knived them each about 1-3 times.... or has the competition not started?

The comp has not started yet and so far there's only 3 confirmed entrants which simply isn't enough (failing that I could guarantee you at least a bronze medal :) ). Once we get more people willing to take part it would be down to just dog tags and not unique ones. Lets face it they're just as difficult to get, same player or not.

Once we've more people, (I was hoping for about 10) then we'll sort a date and get this formally going in the competitions forum.
