Well...Mario Galaxy comes out in the US today (or tomorrow). Anyone else planning to get this? It has so far gotten amazing reviews (9.7 - ign, 9.5 - gamespot, 9.8 - gametrailers, 5/5 - gamespy). The graphics look amazing for the wii, and it looks like it will be a blast to play.

From what I've seen (a lot, including the final battle in the sun, against Bowser), it's epic, right up there with Mario 64.

It's gotten on average higher reviews than Twilight Princess.

I've sorta lost the taste of Nintendo games. So I'm not that excited.

I recommend it, just got it in today!

If anyone even liked Mario 64 a little, this is it's sequel in terms of gameplay and fun (unlike Sunshine >.>).

Sunshine wasn't bad... It wasn't anywhere near 64 though.
Yeah, I'm pretty excited for it, but I have a feeling I won't get it for a while...

What was wrong with Sunshine?

Everything. I could post my list, but I want to get back to Galaxy.

So, for the shortened list:

Bowser sounded like Grover
You had to time jumps to beat the F.l.o.o.d.less levels
The freaking Ghost Manta
The ability to lose water quickly, with recharge pools always too far away
Ghost Manta

Oh, so you mean it was a Mario game. Go figure.

Even after you got the star, those levels were hard with Flood.

Anyways, I can see there are a lot of Sunshine fanboys here, so I'm not going to argue about the problems with it.

Just beat Bowser for the first time, all three songs that play through the level are awesome (remix of Dark Road, Link below, and the new battle theme, which sounds like a mix of Halo, a battle march, and Battle of the Heroes O.o)

Strange, sounds like Mario to me :P

No, really, it's like Halo, Bowser's Theme, and this one song featured in SSBM that I forgot the name of

Do you have to fight him more than once?

3 times, like M64.

Also like M64, the numbers 1-1-3 go into the amount of times you have to kill him.

I'm not a huge fan of Sunshine, actually. I've played it a little, and I liked what I saw, but I can see where some of the detractors might get fodder. I'm just poking fun at the fact that you said you needed to time jumps, which, unless I'm greatly mistaken (or I just misunderstood you), is a hallmark of Mario games.

I rather enjoyed Sunshine, though I never played 64, so I have no basis to compare. I also understand that new ideas (the FLUDD) are hard to adapt to, so to each his own.
Anyways, back on topic, I don't have a Wii, but I'm hoping to get to play the game on my friend's Wii, as it does look amazing.

Mario 64 is a recommended. Best Mario game I've ever played.

Just watched the final battle and every ending of Mario Galaxy in youtube.

Don't quite understand what happened after a Big Bang. Mushroom Kingdom is restored, Mario, Princess Peach and Bowser just stared at each other like "wtf?" and Mario said something. Doesn't really makes sense to me. Lol at Super Luigi Galaxy xD

I haven't got the game yet, but I heard it is easy and quick to get the necessary 60 stars, but if you collect all 120 stars you get...
Hidden/Spoiler:
to play as luigi. I am 99% sure this is confirmed and certain. Luigi plays differently than Mario, I think he is supposed to be faster and be able to jump higher than Mario. When you play as luigi the game is supposed to be tougher This I have heard but am not sure, but if you get all 120 stars with luigi you get another surprise. I think it is another galaxy and the 121st star
I can't wait to by this game

When I first heard about this game I thought it sounded kind of silly, but now I'm actually pretty interested in it. If I ever get a Wii this will most definately be one of the first games I buy.

In response to Kaos4: Hm, that sounds a lot like some of the rumors that used to float around for 64, but it would still be pretty cool.

Kaos4 is correct.
Hidden/Spoiler:
By beating Bowser with all 120 stars, you are given the option to play as Luigi. You must start the game over again, but this time you have to work harder, Luigi jumps higher, but it also takes him a few seconds to slow down. When you beat Bowser with all 120 stars as Luigi, you are now able to play the Mushroom Kingdom level that was at the beginning of the game, the objective is to collect all of the purple coins. Once you do that, you get the 121st Star, and as the Official Prima Guide says, now you can finally turn off the game.
