Melee Attacks

Post by Clowneater »

I have played a few maps before where units could melee attack with their gun. I was wonder how simle/complicated this is to do in a map. If it is simple enough, I'd like to have in my map I'm working on.

Very simple. Just assign the unit a lightsaber. Go into the lightsaber's odf. Change the msh to that of the gun you want. Put a "//" minuse the quotes in front of all the lines involving texture and color. Then wala you are fini! :D

Nice! That puts me in business.

Edit: If I do that, can I make it so that the unit only swings one way rather than complicated chains of swings?

If you read the jedi creation docs it explains those knds of animations, but you might be able to do it by going into the munged folder i your side, opening the anim file with notepad and removing all the additional attacks (attack 2 and 3).

Open .combo, NOT the .anim file from Munged. Once in the .combo, go to the Idle state (first state mentioned) and remove any state transitions you don't want. Then go to ATTACK1 state, and remove the transition to ATTACK2. There you have 1 single attack.

Which munged folder should I look for to do this? Would it be in animations?
