Did you actually read any of the previous posts?
We have all tried that, black appears transparent ingame, like in that picture you looked at. :plokoon:

Seeing as the problem is that the game defines black as transparent, and if you tell it not to you get a square blade, why not just set a different colour for the transparency? Use, say,
magenta for the background colour, freeing up black as opaque.

You seem to have completely missed the entire point of a black lightsaber. That is to say, it's black.

and you sem to have issed that he said retexture

, but thecomment wasnt that meaningfull anyway, since the lightsaber spiderpig posted iis of course a retextured one.
the problem is that you cant define which color should be transparent, its hardcoded in this case.

I also tried lotsa things to get it black by retexturing, but that simply doesn't work. What we need is a model that looks like a complete lightsaber with 2 differend textures, one for the hilt and the other one for the laser thingy. Then we could use the meshtool to add glow the lasertexture. but if we do it like this, there will be no saber trail, the lightsaber couldn't get deactivated while crouching and the laser lenght couldn't be modified.

Darth_Spiderpig wrote:What you could try is using the texture I posted above and create a black/not textured tube with the dimensions to fit into the "hole" and attach it to the hilt...may look stupid when you crouch, but who does as a saber-wielding hero?
This s the best solution I think. But maybe with an all white blade texture. The black blade core model can be attached with the same method as Aalya's left saber.
Offtopic/ if anyone uses a black saber please don't localize it as a lightsaber. The force field is similar technology to a lightsaber, but the core of the black blade can't be a plasma arc. I have no idea what it could be, but IMHO it is not a lightsaber.

Or maybe it's just a physically impossible warping of nature, like the other weapon the Jedi are very fond of...

ok im thinking negatively channled antimatter, but thats just my opinion. doubt it even makes sense XD, but as you can see here, it is not all black! it has white swirls going through it at all times and, completely opposite of the normal lightsaber, its crystal color is in the middle and its glow is white.

yeah, I'm sorry about this.
But it wouldn't be a waste of time to make this as a model (with a tga for the hilt and another one for the blade).

No, I really want a model exactly like this. I know this doesn't fit the topic, I'll put a request for this into the request topic.
My idea was this:
What we need is a model that looks like a complete lightsaber with 2 differend textures, one for the hilt and the other one for the laser thingy. Then we could use the meshtool to add glow the lasertexture. but if we do it like this, there will be no saber trail, the lightsaber couldn't get deactivated while crouching and the laser lenght couldn't be modified.
edit: What's the pic's URL?

[quote="Bob"] but if we do it like this, there will be no saber trail, quote]
why not, saber trails are set up independantly, you can have a saber trail without glow, but adding the saber glow WITH the model for the blacksaber would look better still. FYI i tried adding glow to a vibrosword, i does not look good at all
