Worth Saving A Map?

I've been thinking of it and haven't been able to come to a conclusion. SWBF2 is an fast paced FPS/TPS. There really isn't any progression in a map and maps tend not too last too long. If you had the ability to save a map and shutdown SWBF2, then at a later time restart SWBF2 and reload the map almost exactly as it was, would you do it?

It's not that kind of game with check points and long drawn out stories. Might as well just restart whatever you were doing.

What D.U.C.K. said. And only for things like OFM, Spira and Rebel Ops (all of which it would have been brilliant on and yes Mav I know Spira has a 'save' ability). Not really worth it on things like stock campaign missions

QFT both.

Agreed. It's worth it to have the knowledge around if someone else were to come around and make another map like that, but I wouldn't say it's worth it to incorporate in normal BF2 gameplay.

I think yes. It is a good idea.

Na, not ever worth it. It'll also probably take a sloppy work around to do it anyway.

@Red: Actually, Zerted came up with a workaround already. Never tried it though. But I agree with Sky.

Maps usualy last a maximum of 20 minutes, but most are 10 minutes so therefore there is no point in saving when you could just finish the game.

Ok, then I think I won't do it.

I released a script, tutorial, and a demo map to save and load things 3 months ago. It is hidden in Released Assets, so I'm not too sure how many people know about. I know thats one forum I don't visit often. Link: http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 64&t=17867

Yeah, I remember seeing that. I thought this topic meant you came up with some different method or something.
