Animations and Another Question.

Post by Blade »

Ok, first of all, I need to know something about flyer animations. If all I want it to do is take off (not like... have any parts change when I take off), then do I have to set up an animation as in the flyer animations guide? (which I can't read, because it's a .rar :?)

And also, for the place where the pilot of any vehicle would sit, do I set up the hp_point the same way as the basic modeling thing did, just with Nulls instead of cones? Also, does it HAVE to be named hp_whatever, or can it be named something else as long as I reference it correctly in the .odf?

Download 7-Zip or WinRAR, they're both free and can extract rar files, but I compressed the flyer tutorial into a self extracting archive just incase, just download and extract:

You can use nulls instead of small geometry, it's way easier in my opinion, and I think names are arbitrary, but you should keep the traditional prefix of whatever it is you're defining, such as hp_, p_, c_, sv_, etc...
Although I do condone experimenting, this is one of those cases in which it is completely unnecessary, just use what we know works.

Thank you very much for compressing it, for some reason, WinRar refuses to work, and I hadn't thought about 7-zip. Anyway... your way is easier. And as for the naming thing, I'm not planning on changing anything, I was just wondering if I would, I don't know, destroy the universe if I did change it to something else.
