WIP: Theed Palace

Since Iv postponed my Clone Wars maps due to the whole 'Glow' fiasco , Im gonna try my hand at a map that doesnt require this effect. I wanted an interior map and the most obvious one , at least to me , was Theed Palace.

Iv only just begun so its only a small snapshot at a corridor test Iv done , which was mainly intended for scaling purposes ... The corridors will be made abit wider and taller.

Dont expect to see the generator room or the hangar since they are on the other side of Theed.

It'l be ep1 droids (a lighter skin) against Naboo guards with their proper weapons.

As you can probably tell there are some texture issues and a window transparancy bug ( from some directions the whole wall becomes transparant) but they will be improved / fixed in time. Like I said iv only just started it.

Jezus you work fast.

Seriously, though, that looks awsome, especially for just starting out. The textures on the walls and pillars needs some work, but the shapes look identical. Well done!

WOAH!!! this came out of nowhere...
Anyway, Looks great, I love that floor tileing.
In the first picture, with Maul, what is that weirdness on the left hand side? with the walls and ground?
Same with both sides of the second picture.
It looks like there is something placed funniley in Zeroedit...
I really liked the Palace levels in The Phantom Menace and this looks just like them
Although, I agree, this would be great if the grappling hook were to work. hmmm.....

Hope you don't need glow for this one ;)
It should be possible, but how.........

The weird transparancy bug I mentioned in the 1st post .

As for textures ... the only textures I have spent any amount of time on is the floor (which needs alittle tweaking) and the beige column bases. The others , I have just slapped on so I could see the models and not just see a big blur of white :)


It'l probably have 3 levels. Plenty of spiral and normal staircases .

Not sure who I could have as the CIS hero tho. Captain Panaka can be the Naboo Guard hero.

Im makin the whole map in XSI at the moment , using 'an extrusion technique so that when I come to split up the walkways (for lod/lag purposes) they will fit together nice and snuggliy.

Im using a very rough plan pic i created in Photoshop as a template

If you look closely you might notice the the corridors and rooms are slightly different shades on grey .... the lighter ones are on a higher level ,whilst the darker ones are lower.

Lookin at the pic , you might think the map is kinda small but I think its gonna be pretty big with all the long corridors.
